Unbelievable. Plus the 2,442 Americans killed and over 20,000 injured.

Still cheaper than the dems latest piece of legislation

Yeah, Barack Obama and Joe Biden must toss and turn at night thinking about all the union bosses, green energy hustlers, and political cronies they could have paid off with that money instead.

Guess we fricked around and found out. Well we tried. The Afghans didn’t want what we offered them. Time to leave.

Just think... We pass trillion dollar legislation these days without blinking

Repubs and dems own that. More of these useless wars for nothing are on the horizon.

cheaper by 54.87% too...
Would need to fight 7 more years (27 total years) at the average cost to match just the latest bill
Would have to fight 80 years to match what we printed in the last year

I don’t recall all the dead and injured Americans in that legislation.
ETA: my brother in law was one of them.
I wasn’t for or against the war in 2001.

you don't really think all of that money went to Afghanistan do you?
It went to the exact people you named. War is not about winning anymore. It is not about securing the nation. It is about creating fear to grab money and pass it out to the interest groups.

Yeah, that was kind of my point -- it's all the same.
I believe Obama and Biden sleep like babies every single night.

That number $2.26 trillion comes from the Cost Of Wars Project at Brown University. They also claim that US military action since 9/11 has created 37 million refugees. That is a lot of refugees considering the total population of Iraq and Afghanistan was 50 million in 2010.
We have spent too much money, blood, and time in Afghanistan that is for certain. But take the $2.26 trillion number with a grain of salt.

Let that be a lesson for us all.

Without a doubt many many people got rich and continue to get rich with all that money spent.

Why wasn't the mission simply to kill bin laden and his top level of organization and get out? That at least would have had an actual objective. Military industrial complex is indeed dangerous to the us taxpayer and soldier. The glass city near dc housing Raytheon, Northrop Grumman, etc has to justify its never ending thirst for our money.

You answered your own question pretty succinctly.

Anyone still believe the American government and MIC wouldn't be complicit in the murder of 3,000 of us for that kind of money?
Posted on 8/15/21 at 3:18 pm to Gtothemoney
Yeah but bush's buddies got all that oil.....or something like that so we could have cheap gas.
Posted on 8/15/21 at 3:20 pm to Gtothemoney
And how much of that money went to American businessman who profit off war?
