If 2 different LEOs shot, wouldn't that almost be proof that there was an immediate threat with that guy?
the second officer fires from a distance of about 5 feet as the guy is on the ground rolling onto his back. The agents are all taking steps backwards and forming a line or a perimeter but only the 2 officers are firing

The unfortunate analysis is that the guy made multiple horrific choices that led to him being shot and losing his life.

The question is if that meets the legal requirements for lethal force

Yes. Just as in the case of Ashli Babbit. You are learning so much.

Yes.

I'm not sure if shooting a disarmed person on the ground will meet that requirement in the eyes of a jury. If this goes to trial.

Irrelevant as they don’t even have all the evidence.

I wouldn’t have an issue with it if anyone could just admit that the situation was handled poorly by the professionals who are trained (or should be) to handle these situations.

It’s mainly the general allergy to accountability that is disturbing.

Is it impossible for law enforcement to make mistakes? If a mistake leads to a death, should there be accountability?

If there isn’t accountability — Does that embolden potential bad apples or trigger-happy agents… to know you need not worry about consequences?

I get it’s a tough job. That doesn’t mean they’re always right.

You think they won't be able to obtain it?

Trump could pardon them for federal charges but not state, the lunatics in Minnesota will do everything in their power to put them in jail.

Just to get at Trump

Probably could have handled it a bit better himself. The cops were there doing their jobs, he didn’t need to be.

Interesting that he didn’t back down as it was reported by CNN he got his rib broken by ICE a few days before.

They’ve already been told no and that they weren’t investigating.

Shooting the guy another 5 times when he is on the ground and disarmed might be difficult to justify

Of course not, but I’ve been trained extensively on firearms through both military and civilian courses. You shoot until the threat is neutralized.

It’s just like when people yell that an officer should have shot a tire out or a suspect in the limbs. That’s not how someone is trained. You are trained to shoot center mass, the largest target available.

I'm pretty sure it's SOP.

It is an impossible task to go back and re-examine events to punish police.
