That is a great step. Add in the police and firefighter unions and you'd be doing a great service to the taxpayers of Louisiana.

I'm not giving them views.

Copy/paste it. They use a paywall and I'm not going to waste the time on them to get around it.

This is the same Advocate that was begging us to keep wearing masks years after Covid.
That "news"paper is a pass for me.

The Advocate is not a left-leaning publication, by any means. John Georges owns the Advocate, and it has taken a considerable conservative bent since his ownership.
Now, if we were talking about the Advocate owned by the Manship family, then yes, you could call it a liberal rag.

Wanting to take away lunch breaks for child workers is a weird, weird thing.
Other than that, my only other issue is I do believe if people want to join a union with the intent of negotiating wages and benefits as a group, they should be able to do so so. They should never be forced to. And the employer should be able to say, nah, we will individually negotiate.
But if some workers want it and the employer is ok with it... it should be allowed.
All the other bills seem good to me.

I'm all in for stripping teacher's (and other classes of employees) of collective bargaining rights. In my opinion the only jobs that should be unionized are those that carry an inherent risk of being seriously injured or killed.
Teachers carry very little risk beyond the risk of paper cuts but police, firemen, and numerous other trades do work under those risks and IMO should have the right to bargain collectively.
I've witnessed 4 men killed and about two dozen maimed on the job during 47 years in my trade, it isn't pretty.

In fairness, we know precisely why The Advocate's collective butts hurt.
