Humans like to war and have done so for thousands of years.

My brother has a friend who was part of an Army team that installed communications equipment in the Thai royal palace. Top secret shite. Says he still can't talk about exactly what they did or installed.
But he did say that if you're working for the King of Thailand, you get anything you want.

Cambodia is still a dictatorship whose ruling party is the remnants of the commie regime, and its official name is the Cambodian People's Party
Yes, Pol Pot and Khmer Rouge were so fricking crazy Vietnam entered Cambodia to put an end to it. The guy they installed was also Khmer Rouge. He's been there ever since.
Cambodia is well behind Thailand in development for quite obvious reasons from that time. Going from paved roads and highways to essentially red clay in Siem Reap. I doubt they have much of a chance against the Thai. It was weird seeing the CCP local offices as you went around. About as strange as seeing the French influence with the Ecole/schools.
Oh, and they only use US dollars there. ATMs spit out greenbacks.

Thailand fell for the ol AOC trap
Current prime minister is suspended from office for telling the Cambodian dictator a few weeks ago that she would get him anything he needs and called him "uncle" on phone tapes he released

Unlike our European "allies" they also sent tens of thousands of troops to fight with us in Vietnam. Almost as many Thai fought in Korea as UK
Our European allies sent thousands of troops to fight with us in Afghanistan and Iraq, while our Thai “allies” offered thoughts, prayers and lady boys.
Canada alone lost 159 people standing with us in Afghanistan.
But sure, root for Thailand in a war you know nothing about and denigrate allies that have put blood in the soil for us this century.

Our treaties with Thailand are centered specifically (in the language of the treaties) around South East Asia. They also did send a battalion of engineers and helped with logistical support. They had zero obligation to do anything

And? Where was Canada in all of the other post WW2 wars? 159 people is token-esque for how "close" of an ally they have claimed to be ever since they got hit with the tariff stick. Canada was also obligated to be in Afghanistan because Article 5 was invoked.
American "allies" have shed next to no blood since the end of the WW2, all the while hyping up the "Rules Based International Order" - which was created and maintained with US blood

Well, that sucks. We are supposed to be on vacation there
next month in conjunction with Viet Nam. Not sure that is going to be a go.

Thailand is awesome but having visited there then Cambodia right after you can see the stark difference in development. The killing fields are one of humanities worst atrocities and Thai people, like the polish with Russians, would like nothing more than to flatten the entire country.
