How the F%^K do you get a mortgage when you aren't legal ?
That's on the lenders.
Plus how many immigrants have 20% for a down payment.
The FHA residency requirements allowed it. You don't need 20% for a down payment anyway. Funny this article was written now, since the FHA residency requirements don't take effect to block illegals from FHA mortgages until May:
quote:
“HUD’s revised residency requirements for FHA-backed loans, which take effect on May 25, will apply to Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) recipients as well as individuals who are pending asylum or pending refugee status, according to HUD, since there is no guarantee that their residency status will be renewed under the current administration.
The new policy eliminates the ‘non-permanent resident’ category entirely from the FHA’s Single Family Title I and Title II programs, and reverses a Biden-era policy which allows FHA loans for DACA recipients who provide a valid Social Security Number and work eligibility status.

Who knew immigrants lived in houses?
It’s like millions of people who weren’t here 4 years ago drove up the demand for housing.
I've posted on this forum several times over the past 5 years if the tens of millions of illegals were removed from the US there wouldn't be a housing shortage. I know for a fact it's pretty common for 2 or more illegal families to share a home and the related costs of buying and maintaining a home.

This and Tricolor will be a hard hit for the economy, but worth it.
This nation needs a good old 18th century bloodletting.

Well these homes will go to auction and lower income and potential first time home buyers will have opportunity to purchase an affordable home
And then not be able to keep them up and they will either lose them or the houses will deteriorate and bring down home values for everyone around them
You cant give people shite that they cant afford. Plain and simple. It will never work

How do you do anything?
The system is set up to allow them to be illegal. It’s all a wink wink system. From drivers licenses, to home loans, to Medicaid, to voting registration, to enrolling your child in school.

Lower income home owners let this happen all the time, regardless of their immigration status.

I have seen this spreading, and this is not unique to just illegals FYI.
I understand it's news because it's illegals but I have managed foreclosures for 15 years, and people leaving behind everything happens often. Food, pets, and literally everything. Sometimes we find out the person was single and died but other times it's usually a bad divorce or something.
Sometimes people move to a smaller place so they only take the necessities and leave behind half their stuff.
We have a house to clean out next week that even has a ZTR mower and a 2012 Dodge Ram left behind.
I won't embarrass him, but we once managed a foreclosed house of a former LSU basketball player, and he left behind all of his LSU memorabilia. Thankfully, the neighbor knew how to get in touch with him otherwise, his stuff would have been eventually hauled away and gone forever.

Report those homes to ICE. My rental house in Jefferson Parish just depreciated $20K in value out of nowhere in the last month, Guessing the ICE raids have something to do with this. I don’t rent to illegals and I am completely okay with this if it’s getting these parasites out of our country. But it’s crazy that illegals have been inflating home and rental values like it is beginning to appear they have.

And probably had help from NGOs receiving tax payer funds.

Until BlackRock swoops in, offers well above asking, all cash, waives inspections, and pays closing costs.

What exactly does "mid-life" mean in terms of mortgage-speak?
Posted on 12/13/25 at 9:34 am to HubbaBubba
It's not mid life of the mortgage, it means leaving while the coffee pot is still on.

Yes, Tricolor Holdings specifically marketed to and provided car loans to customers who were excluded from traditional banking systems, which included a significant number of undocumented immigrants and individuals with little to no credit history.
How does that relate to the fraud by tricolors capital markets team? I’m not sure you have any clue wtf you’re talking about.

So you mean to tell me that the competition for housing in America is being eliminated so that it opens the door for American to own houses? How awful
