A bunch of older, useless commercial real estate is going to go vacant after this.
i get not wanting weed sold at nearly every gas station but outright banning it is stupid.
The owner of Silver Eagle beer distributors is a massive donor to the state GOP, it is no wonder this gets passed.

I'm 61, if I want to sit on my porch, in the woods and get fricked up on an edible, I should be able to do that.
I ask the question, not of you but, of anyone that wants to answer it.
What's more harmful?
a) 2 fingers of whisky
b) a delta 6 gummy

It passed the house with only minor changes from the Senate bill. Abbott will sign it because it's his Lt. Governor's cause de jour. The vote was 97-44. That means the likelihood of getting it repealed or getting real MJ legalized is almost zero. I also don't see any court overturning a law passed by an overwhelming majority of the senate and house.
The only way to ever get those rights back will be a Democrat majority in both chambers and governor. That would be an absolute fricking disaster for every issue but weed.
We're screwed.

Yea there's a sizeable amount of commercial retail space that is dedicated to this.
This isn't just a few sku's no longer being sold at gas stations.

Since OP can't manage a link for hours: KERA (NPR-driven) News
I'm (R) but what a disingenuous tard:

And just in case you didn't see it in the first quote:

The Texas House late Wednesday gave initial approval to a bill that would ban all products containing tetrahydrocannabinol, or THC, likely spelling the end for the state’s short-lived hemp industry.
Under the legislation, which is nearing the governor’s desk for approval, adults would face up to a year in jail for possessing hemp products with any amount of THC — a stricter penalty than what is on the books for possessing up to 2 ounces of marijuana.

Lt. Gov. Dan Patrick, who oversees the Senate, has led the charge to eradicate the industry, which he accuses of preying on susceptible minors by setting up stores near schools and marketing products to children. The Senate passed legislation in March to ban all THC products,

The measure, Senate Bill 3, is expected to receive a final, largely ceremonial vote on Thursday, the last step before it will head back to the Senate. Though Oliverson’s floor substitute largely aligns the bill with the Senate draft, it added a handful of changes that will require the Senate’s signoff before the bill can head to Gov. Greg Abbott’s desk.
Abbott has declined to weigh in on the issue this session, deferring to lawmakers to decide on their preferred approach. An Abbott spokesperson declined to reveal the governor’s plans for signing the THC bill, saying only that he “will thoughtfully review any legislation sent to his desk.”

I don't see where it needs to be banned, I was just expressing my surprise that something so effective was able to be so easily purchased.

My argument would be based on how the delta 6 gummy was made... Kinda like the vape argument with the unregulated oils...
Looks like Texas could have regulated the THC industry more clearly to close the loophole in the original law that was being exploited but went with the "ban it all approach"...

Hello dipshit. Mississippi has legalized marijuana with a prescription card.
And Mississippi's education ranking is 7 places above Texas.

Look up the D6 Shadow blend Ghost gummy.
The way it's made doesn't matter to me, I'm 61, pretty sure the accountability solely rests on me.
Prohibition always works so well.
We are not free.

Unaparty states like Texas or California suffer from the retardzation of unchecked policy making.
We need more Democrats in the Texas House and senate.
much prefer moderate democrat that has to wade the waters of a conservative state than a zealous baptist republican

Maybe not to you but there is some nasty shite sold in convenience stores around this country, that probably should not be sold at all much less easy access...

Not sure what Mitch McConnell has to do with anything? Weird melt.

Screw all the population growth. And do you really have a big problem getting weed?

Screwed in what way? You really think pot will become hard to get? The demrats are the problem. I don't need pot to feel free. I noticed it isn't in the constitution. Pretty sure the pursuit of happiness can be interpreted differently.

The rookiest of rookie mistakes. Too many people see the size of the gummie and go "meh, two won't hurt" when in reality one is still probably too much for a novice. The psychotropic chemical in gummies is highly, highly concentrated.
You won't die from it but you're done for the day and maybe even the next if you go too far.
