Texas Can't Secede From the US it't time to set the record straight.

f there were any doubt remaining after that, late Supreme Court Justice Antonin Scalia set it to rest more than a century later with his response to a letter from a screenwriter in 2006 asking if there is a legal basis for secession.
“The answer is clear,” Scalia wrote. “If there was any constitutional issue resolved by the Civil War, it is that there is no right to secede. (Hence, in the Pledge of Allegiance, ‘one Nation, indivisible.’)”
Now Texas can break up into 5 states but can't secede.

It can - but the deal would have to be ratified as a Constitutional amendment.

Of course any state has the right to secede.
It just needs to make sure that it can win the war (if any).

I grew up in Texas, love the state. What i hate seeing is people keep saying Texas should leave and that they can. No they can't.

Scalia’s point is valid that no one state has a special right to secession but if it comes down to secession, the law will not be relevant. It will come down to the social and political will of both sides.
