anyone here doesn't think it was a joke. Please say so, so we can all laugh at you.

Isn’t the issue that AI is running shite like this instead of a human that could perceive context?

Of course, the fact that the body cams are so ubiquitous from this one instance makes it seem pretty fake to begin with.

Right so we agree. It is a water gun emoji. As you said there is no gun emoji.

Meh: she’s such a stupid count for doing it that I don’t care about her finding out.

as fricked as her arrest was - Im also terrified of companies like snapchat having such a low bar to flag and report posts to the FBI

The entire PT board would be fricked .

So the fbi searches all snapchats?… wtf…..

SnapChat reported the message to FBI. FBI contacted sheriff's department.

Yup, School + teacher + student + pistol emoji = Law Enforcement. Once reported, everyone plays their part just incase a school shooting were to occur.

My take on this is....
Should of had her laptop password protected after a minute or two of idol, especially in a classroom full of kids.

By some accounts the emoji was this

... still completely totally unquestionably harmless, and a joke. WTF would the charge be to force her to spend the night in jail? Uneffing believable!

As for Snapchat, the platform is obviously surveilling private posts, doing it w/ AI, and doing it on a platform founded on a premise of privacy. I can only imagine the volumes of extortable material a site like that could accumulate on individuals.

Unless I'm missing something, the only parties who saw the post were her boyfriend and roommate ....... and Snapchat's in-house voyeurs

Send an email to the cops and ask “should I ?? (insert any random poster name)?” and see what happens.

This misses the point.

1) The post was not sent to anyone who would not have immediately recognized it as a joke.

2) Snapchat is run by voyeurs.

Yep.
"Can I have your phone?"
"yea! Here you go."

"Were you online today?"
"Sure! Let me make your entire case for you right here on camera!"

Teachers should NOT be posting anything about their students, unless it is totally positive!

Just to make sure you understand the difference. This was a private message that was sent, not a post... public or private.

The kicker here to me is private message being scanned. Not surprising though. This needs to be clearly known by users, and companies need to let customers know this is the case.

Social Media definitely has its way of exposing the dumazzes of society.

My hunch is this young “educator” probably wouldn’t actually try and kill the kid but her immature, dumb azz just couldn’t prevent herself from running to “post something edgy and ‘real’”.

She’s the one who ended up learning a lesson.

Random comment...I recently heard that those google glasses, etc that have video have people overseas looking at those vids to help build AI capabilities. So people using them for personal reasons like home porn are giving random foreigners spank material.

People really have no clue what these companies are able to see and do with everything that goes thru their servers. I have no doubt that our officials are compromised via their private gmail, etc accounts.-

She’ll end up going through law enforcement process and multiple levels of school board meetings to determine her fate.

At least she didn’t unplug her glue gun and go chasing anfter the kid.

Doesn't miss shite. Don't send stupid messages about killing my kid when you're in care of my kid.

It's pretty clear her friend ratted her out b/c they thought there might be something unless snapchat has some sort of crawler policing the messages.

Sure she learned a lesson, but it's that PRIVATE MESSAGES are scanned, and not PRIVATE. This has nothing to do with making an "edgy post".

“How we got it is the FBI.”

So finally the FBI gets one? All the shootings where the killer lost for weeks and they zeroed in on this person in 1/2 day.

That was weird. I expected something awful. Instead it was just an awful waste of resources. There isn't something better the FBI and cops can be doing?
