If it isn't clear now to you that the rules are only there to restrict YOU, and not your lords, this is one more baseball bat to the face.

Hedge fund managers talk stocks up and down with abandon, and get rewarded handsomely for it. When YOU do it? It's a "threat to the system".

The illusion that we're free and have a say in things is dying, fast.

In unprecedented move, TD Ameritrade restricts trades on GME and AMC

quote:

With the move higher in GME seemingly unstoppable, and with the SEC silent and refusing to step in and bailout the millions of shorts who remain trampled by the short squeeze stampede, the exchanges have decided to step in and moments ago TD Ameritrade was the first brokerage to announce that "in the interest of mitigating risk for our company and clients", the company has put in place several restrictions in GME, AMC and other securities.

Can you still buy the stock or does this prevent anyone from continuing to invest in Gamestop?

Protecting the institutional short sellers?

Or is AMC not woke enough?

This has been incredible to watch.

They got the script flipped on them, so they just shut down the game early.

The former.

Hedge funds are getting their shite pushed in on GameStop and can’t afford to cover their shorts on other stocks as well.

You cant buy through TDA. You have to find another platform to buy gamestop right now.

I’m pretty sure they understand financials more than someone like me

Yes. Trying to prevent the gamestop price from continuing to climb.

More than just that, but what does this say about valuations at this point? Is anything that isn’t an actual NAV even worth a damn? And how reliable are NAVs at this point?

House of Cards getting ready to tumble.

They may think they win but they still lose.

If Gamestop no longer gets new buys, all it does is shore up that they are having to do their short sales on a $300+ share price.

If trading remained free, there was a chance the price would crash.
