Explain that to me. How is that a win??

The U.S. Soybeans are still being SOLD meaning China is hurting and losing on that particular tariff...

Good grief you are dense...

I agree Chinese consumers are being screwed by their government tariffs just like Trump is screwing US consumers with his tariffs but I don't see the win side of this soybean thing.

What is the win??? How does Chinese consumers paying more for US soybeans equate to a win for anybody???

I honestly do not give a frick what Chinese consumers pay for soybeans... However, the pain they suffer from having to pay more while the U.S. is virtually unscathed will eventually lead to the concessions that are being sought, IN FAVOR OF THE U.S.

Where does one find such things?? Not in any post of ole IB's.

I want goods as cheap as I can buy them and I know that tariffs stop that.

If the Chinese were smarter they would simply remove all tariffs from US goods and tell Trump to do to his people what he wishes. They should then use their very large currency reserves of dollars to buy every single subsidized US crop they could.

I know this is over your head but we would have new problems if somehow we suddenly had a trade surplus with China. They would be sending us our USDs and we would be sending them commodities. The value of the USD would plummet and inflation would ensue. In a way we should thank them for holding all those dollars in reserve and off the international markets.

The largest soybean market in the world buys a vast majority of their soybeans from somebody else and only buys from you when the other suppliers are out of inventory is a win???
i already asked you how you know this is how it will play out. you can't predict the future. yet, you are basing your conclusion that the china announcement ISN'T a "win" based on your inability to predict the future.

instead of your usual bullcrap, why don't you just acknowledge the reality: china backpedaled. their market stumbled on the news. us market is still thriving. as long as that continues, in general, then the tool did what it was supposed to do.

While you are at it how about counting the number of substantive post you have made on the the subject of tariffs compared to IB. I am trying my best to ignore post from those I believe aren't knowledgeable but folks like you make it hard.

Exhibit A. Hes a tool who seriously talks about himself in third person.

Maybe he has a legitimate point, but he refuses to pragmaticly look at the political climate and argue his point with any tact. Those against big government have been used and abused by DC for years, often by those they thought were their allies. Then comes Trump who genuinely seems to care for the plight of the average American...gasp even the white middle class ones. Every day he is attacked, even over the most trivial bullshite...and often over complete fabrications. If IB was really as intelligent as he deems himself, he’d realize if he really cared about persuading people about free trade, tariffs, etc hed take a different approach than attacking the President and insulting people who support him.

Maybe he should take a break from researching every single piece of negative news he can find and read How to Win Friends and Influence People by Dale Carnegie. Maybe then he’d realize that the quickest way to NOT influence someone is to make them defensive.

I seriously doubt though that he really cares about persuading anyone. I think this daily crusade is just a means of venting from his seemingly miserable daily life and convincing himself that his personal failures are the result of everyone else’s stupidity, rather than his fault.

If as in your scenario inflation shot up US consumers would be buying less Chinese goods as they have less money to spend.
This helps China how?

The farmers I knew growing up may have taken great joy in China's inability to cover their import needs by holding out for a larger profit before selling but they were old school.
