Because they hit Iraqi tankers

Wouldn’t be surprised if it was self-sabotage by Iraqi agents with an assist by IRGC.

They were foreign vessels carrying Iraqi oil? How does this benefit Iran? Iraq has been helpful to Iran, I thought.

Show of force of their capabilities. No one is going to war for dinky Iraq but Iran shows they can light tankers up if they want to.

They don't share religious beliefs. Iraq are sunnis and Iran are Shia. They hate each other. All of the countries surrounding Iran are mostly Sunni.

Iran has funded a few Sunni Muslim terrorist groups. I think the head of AQ is living in Iran. They hate each other until it comes time to kill Americans and then they get along like 2 old guys that grew up together their whole lives.

uhhhhhh Islam? Ever heard of it?

Now do Catholics and Protestants. Different sects, same religion, not really friendly with one another. But wouldnt attack the others "tankers" because in the end they represent the same religion - Christianity

Yea but Sunnis and Shia have a lot of religious differences. Sunnis and Shia have been at war with each other for hundreds of years.

How many decades have we been told about how America keeps the seaways safe for trade. First time the idea has really been challenged. It's time to put up or shut up.

Wait. Two are down but how many made it through. Some ships are going to be hit and that number should go down over time as people figure out how they were hit and the location.

Hell, we’re still letting them ship their oil to China. Make it make sense.

Trump 2.0 is trying to keep China out of the direct conflict by allowing oil shipments to China.

Why do you think that every person that disagrees with the war in Iran is a “leftist “? I and many republicans I know don’t agree with it

Yeah, but whe you are war with the Jews and the Christians, you dont then attack a fellow Muslim, who might have sided with you, just out of religious roots preservation

The only Sunnis that Iran will work with are the radicals Al Qaeda and Hamas. The hate between those two is deep. Its not surprising at all that Iran is hitting Iraqi vessels. Iran was hitting UAE, Oman and Saudi for years under Biden.

Iran is launching missiles at random thai and greek ships and sailors.

You think we should just let it go unpunished?

So that right there should tell you how deep the hate is when Sunnis are siding with Christians and Jews against Shia.

ISIS received help from Iran at one time if I’m remembering correctly.

They received help from Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama. So, probably. Yeah.

No, Iran has not helped ISIS. In fact, they are bitter enemies.
?The relationship between Iran (a Shia power) and ISIS (an extremist Sunni group) is one of open, violent conflict. Because ISIS views Shia Muslims as apostates who must be killed, they represent a direct existential threat to Iran and its regional allies.

Seems like I heard several years ago that Iran was helping them at one time. I could have them mixed up with another group though it has been a few years. I could have swore I heard that at one time though.

I blink, open my eyes, and suddenly MAGA is interventionalist.

Some of you truly have no real principles beyond bending over backward to suck Trump’s cock. It’s fascinating.

Well Hamas is Sunni Muslims so it’s not totally out of the question for them to work with a Sunni group.
