What do they do when that last plane flies out on the 31st? Get it rolling down the tarmac with the ramp open and have everyone pulling security collapse in and jump on at the last moment?
Hopefully Biden can coordinate with the Taliban to film it for us cause that will be something to see.

I see pictures of all these people getting on C17s. None are American. Who are all these Afghans and why do they get to leave?

1) Rely on the Taliban to keep a security perimter.
2) This article talks about our specialized units that may be tasked with being the last man out.

It's ironic that the black hawks will be the last to leave (if true) when Biden was so worried to leave the airport due to a black hawk down type issue.

They are getting people out. There is a good interview here with Sam Kiley who is on the ground in Kabul if you're interested.
CNN
quote:
The White House said Wednesday morning that approximately 19,000 people had been evacuated by US military and coalition flights over the past 24 hours. The Pentagon said Tuesday that there are "a little bit above 5,000" people at the airport in Kabul waiting to board flights, which are now leaving about every 45 minutes.
quote:
Additionally, two defense officials told CNN on Tuesday that the first US troops have started leaving the country as the evacuation effort enters its final week.
That's an improvement on all fronts, but the US is still up against the clock. President Joe Biden will stick, for now, with the August 31 deadline to withdraw US troops, according to a senior administration official.

“Hopefully Obama bin Biden can coordinate”
You must be joking Biden couldn’t coordinate an ice-cream social if his pathetic life depended on it.
“So the Biden Administration had 25,000 troops sitting in parking garages in DC for weeks to maximize the politics of 1/6 but they couldn’t keep a fraction of that force on Afganistan to help evacuate our friends and allies, or secure the 100billion in US taxpayer funded military hardware that’s now in Taliban hands”

How many of those are Americans? Are they going to have to circle back for that number?

That’s the only question that matters.

Yea, I don't know about that.

That's a flight out every ~11 min and doesn't account for landings.
I'm not buying it.

So if they got 19,000 out and put 800 per plane that's 24 flights.
How long does it take to load, leave adn have the next plane land?
I'm hoping that this is a correct number but does anyone believe it from that one airport?? With one runway???

It's not even all US-interest persons, and obviously not citizens. It includes all coalition evacs, hence "facilitated" and "coalition"
The 70k and 80k numbers are getting regurgitated all over social media. Talking points went out. Imagine having so little dignity that you're willing to die on this hill on fuzzy numbers to defend a President who is clearly impaired and left thousands of Americans stranded due to sheer incompetence and cowardice.
It's just pathetic, I have no interest in sharing a country with these twats.

I did see confirmed reports that flights were leaving Kabul at a pace of every 45 minutes.
I also saw reports of aircraft leaving almost empty.

I just want to know how they're vetting the people they're getting out.

I 100% expect stories about Americans being turned away (with passports) for multiple days in a row while completely unvetted men with nefarious intentions get through and get flown out.
It's practically American tradition

Doesn't say but we can assume there are Americans in significant numbers in that 19000.
Posted on 8/25/21 at 8:53 am to UASports23
Right so that is why I don't believe 19,000. I want it to be true but I don't think it is.

Well in previous batches of 6000, 8000, etc. the American numbers have been sub-1000. So I'm not sure that's a safe assumption.
