Weren’t you saying something about Biden stepping down, Harris taking over, and Harris appointing Pence as her VP? Your entire existence on this site is being overdramatic no matter what the topic is on.

I wonder if Massoud is in touch with the Afghan pilots in Uzbekistan

I would be surprised if he hadn't. Someone gave them orders where to fly. That, almost certainly, wasn't Ghani.

If you look at 9/11 and the fall of Afghanistan in terms of military defeats. The fall of Afghanistan is much more of a defeat. It is a complex disaster as opposed to a more simple failure.

To that point I can agree, but it is still an apples to oranges comparison. You're comparing geo-political failures that many Americans have ignored to catastrophic loss of life that paralyzed every single American.

Fatal crush at Kabul airport as people try to flee

quote:

Crowds swelled around the concrete barriers surrounding the airport as soldiers struggled to maintain calm with thousands arriving at the airport each day to leave the country.

Soldiers helped treat those injured in the crushing panic and covered the bodies of those who had perished under the strain.

To prevent further deaths and injuries, soldiers pulled people from the crowds and used a hose to cool them down.

While evacuations are continuing, some outgoing flights have been far from full because of the airport chaos, Taliban checkpoints and bureaucratic challenges.

The fall of Kabul marked the final chapter of America's longest war, which began after the September 11, 2001, terror attacks.

By that historical logic, we could blame this entire incident in 9/11.

It’s just not a good comparison. They’re both terrible and both very impactful but the longevity of the impacts clouds the comparison.

The Ambassador to Afghanistan has returned to the Kabul airport.

the Biden administration has perpetrated the worst foreign policy disaster in our history. Saigon doesn't even come close.

To be fair Biden and his cronies said this was no Saigon. We just weren’t smart enough to understand what they meant at the time.

9/11 was a failure to anticipate that sort of attack on the country.

The fall of Afghanistan was a failure to anticipate, adapt and learn that occurred over two decades.

The US is far weaker today than it was in 2001.

Yes, this is what I am saying but people are not understanding what I mean this being worse than 9/11. In the immediate, yes 9/11 was worse than this is up to this point. But we’re one week in a multi-month shite show. 9/11 took place in less than two hours. If you stretch out the timeline where we are on this atrocity the first plane has just hit the North Tower.

Save for our Security State with the Patriot Act over fellow Americans, America came out stronger after 9/11. We are much weaker now than we were two weeks ago. No one has let Bush forget how he didn’t immediately leave story time hour when we were under attack. Biden’s behavior in this is much more egregious than that.

I can be overly emotional and hyperbolic at times, but this is not one of them. It doesn’t take much intelligence or imagination to understand which direction we’re heading, and none of it is good.

So.....

We went from "No one is having issues getting to the airport."

To, "Americans have been beaten while trying to reach the airport."

To, "We are tracking specific terrorist threats from ISIS against Americans trying to reach the airport."

In less than 24 hours.

If that isn't a political disaster, nevermind the human aspect, for this Administration, I don't know what is.

someone posted a day or two ago that Brits in Kabul were warned that foreign fighters were coming from the south and that they need to leave immediately. Now we have reports of an ISIS attack in Kabul.

Yep, I posted that days ago. It's just proof that this administration isn't listening to their intel.... or it's proof that this board is better at intel than the US Gov't.

Maybe we should be offered jobs.

I've never been a 'false flag' type person, but the last few years have changed my perception of government. The 'incident' at LAX last night had me thinking that something may be cooked up here at home to change the narrative. Maybe I've become a conspiracy theorist, I don't know.

Same here. It’s mind boggling the lengths Progs will go to get and keep power and how many things are corrupted.

Something really really bad is going on behind the scenes with this administration. This seems like it was all planned and is being done on purpose…and Biden is in Delaware and Harris is in Vietnam.

How the frick do these people not care what these optics look like? You plan a visit to Vietnam knowing full well that a Saigon-esque situation is extremely possible in Kabul?

Every day, and often even every hour, there are more and more issues that make it hard to comprehend the exact depth of the biden administration’s incompetence.
