Well, let's count a few slimebags who have been in DC. There's Sharpton, Schiff, Waters, Omar, Rahib, Jeffries, Pelosi, Swalwell, and Hillary just for quick starters. All Democrats. THERE is the irony of your statement.

Suit yourself and your own ignorance as to the reality. Read up on the Sun God from Egyptian mythology you'll see a lot of parallels to the Nativity story. The Saturnalia celebrates the Sol Invictus or the return of the Sun and that celebration generally overlapped with the Christmas season. Makes sense, Jesus is the return of light to the world.

In the Nativity, there is mention of shepherds tending their flocks. In the Levant, shepherds would not have their flocks out in the pasture that time of year, they still don't . It gets cold and the weather is unpredictable. Plus there is no Roman record of a census by Augustus like the one described in the Bible. There was one about a decade after, but Roman census did not require travel as it would have been for tax purposes and they liked to get people where they currently lived.

There's a lot of extraneous "mythology" in the Bible especially as to the Birth of Christ which have little impact or bearing to that which is important. For some reason early Church fathers and theologians wanted to get things exact and arbitrarily assigned dates to events like March 25, or December 25. It was all about having structure to the religion.. what does it matter in terms of the message or the sacrifice? Does it really matter the date? Does it really matter the details of the census as it applies to Christ's message or sacrifice? Christianity is about faith. Faith is something you take on it"s word alone. The evidence is nice, but not entirely necessary.
