Susan Collins is on record as voting against a ban on partial birth abortions.

I know, as a man, I have no standing in commenting against abortion at all, but the practice of partial birth abortion seems rather horrific, IMHO.

Yep....
I think it’s a good thing.
I don’t want activist judges.
Also when she votes to approve it will take the wind out of the sails of the left.

Out of curiosity. Would any judge who openly says he would support Roe Vs. Wade be an activist judge?
Supporting stare decisis is hardly “activism.” Quite the opposite.

I don’t think and I hope this court doesn’t touch it. Let individual freedom prevail over a religious morality agenda.

If this court is smart they don’t touch it.

Then you don't know democrats. If they think they can knock Trump down by his own people failing him then you don't know frick all about democrats. When do those 3 vote with Republicans....when the vote doesn't mean a fricking thing. They would rather get carted out on their arse then let Trump win bro. Democrats do not....EVER...give their vote up away from the party. Democratic socialist nanny state Dems do not fray.

Susan Collins makes Nancy Pelosi look like she’s in her prime. I don’t see how some of these people keep getting elected. Hang it up Suze.

Which SCOTUS decisions do you think were screwed up because of ACTIVIST judges?

Overturning Roe would be the reversal of an activist decision.

What is it about Roe that makes you conclude it was an activist decision?

Roe v. Wade's about the 10th Amendment and judicial activism as relates to legislating from the bench not about hating women, these people need to get their heads out of their asses

I'm still trying to find the provision in the Constitution that states abortion is a right, I know the framers sure as hell never contemplated fetus killing in drafting the amendments so originalism dictates its within 10th Amendment authority

The Court ruled that a right to privacy under the Due Process Clause of the 14th Amendment extended to a woman's decision to have an abortion. It found that that right of privacy should be balanced against the Government's interests in regulating abortions - protecting women's health and protecting human life. The Court found that the Government's interests became stronger over the course of a pregnancy. Balancing those 2 interests, the Court tied the Government's regulation of abortion to the third trimester of pregnancy.

Just in case you wanted to know.

Sometimes you gotta take someone you agree with 50% of the time, when the only other option in a place like Maine is someone you agree with 0% of the time

Roe V Wade is settled law. But so was slavery and Jim Crow laws. Those ideas were settled law and eventually society grew to realize how bad they were.

Just like abortion.

True but Maine was pretty close to going red in 2016.

With that logic, it extends to a person's decision to murder, you know how stupid you sound right now?

That does not denote it's a right that exists and is constitutionally protected, thanks Judicial Activist remind me never to vote for you ever, when the Constitution is silent on an issue and the framers' intent never addressed an issue therefore it's delegated to the 10th Amendment and federal legislature under their Article I powers, federalism bitch

For a simple perspective, there's nothing in the Constitution nor is there anything represented by the framers' original intent that states any of this, it was a state law passed by the representatives legally elected by the citizens and complied with procedure for passing state laws therefore it's subject to Article V or legislative change per either Congress or the states BOOM

No matter what, I couldn't possibly sound as stupid as you did in that statement.

You see the amendments were adopted after Article 1 (hence, they are called amendments) that amended the constitution, in some instances to limit the powers in the constitution.

You obviously have no idea how the constitution and amendments relate to each other. No only that, when it suits your (absurd) argument, you cite the 10th amendment while disregarding the 14th.

You're lucky they still don't have literacy tests, or you couldn't vote at all.
