Can’t believe there are nerds here in a thread about suppressors talking about clearing their home with an AR platform, suppressed.

This nerd has done it in real life without a suppressor and hearing protection. So I think I can handle my MPX pretty good there buddy!

Its not even the hearing loss thats a problem. As someone said earlier, its damn close to a flash bang going off in your hands. The noise is so loud that it is disorienting, and the flash from some loads is horrible.

Anything with a rifled barrel should come standard with a suppressor.

Agree.

The question always should’ve been “why shouldn’t this be suppressed?”.

It’s not just the noise that you want but the percussion of the muzzle blast will disorientate the intruder if he is close enough. This could buy you time for follow up shots.

If you dont have ear protection its going to frick you up at least as bad. Shoot a pistol out of a barn door at night with the lights off. The noise is unbelievable.

A short rifle with a suppressor is by far the best home defense setup.

About as soon as you discharge your firearm you become a target so why overly advertise your position?

That's my hot take
