Check out the studies on the affects of THC on attention and task performance.
I have... columbia university did a nice one in 2001 indicating there is a slight delay, but task performance is exactly on par with sober. LINK

Wait. So you are actually a medical doctor and believe hundreds of people die every year from overdosing on marijuana????

That's all anyone wants. I'll say marijuana has medical benefits but like anything else it has drawbacks.

Now it's his field.
Next year he'll be the head of the CDC.

The cry of every generation to the adults of the world. We know have more people then ever in history destroyed due to drugs because it's the friggin 21st century man! You just don't get it man! Old dude!
TL/DR
Woe is me... I'm 36yo and make around 100k/yr not counting incentives/bonuses (OT status I know...blah blah) I'm a functionable pot head per say. I'm not banging brown or tooting white girl... I burn on my own time. There is no devil in the smoke manipulating my every though. Instead of drinking myself into a stupor and pissing my pants because I'm so inebriated, I roll up a nice J, kick back, and step outside the box that our society built to protect little Johnny and Sara, and I enjoy the stimulation and and inquisitive thoughts that most are so busy to even contemplate. I also can smoke till it's all gone and still be able to function like a square, unlike those who choose alcohol. So you can take you 1940's beliefs and shove them up your arse!
Marijuana will go down in history as one of the best all around medicinal "medicines" know to man!

Didn't that change in Europe?
Don't we tend to follow their lead in drugs?

I don't understand the almost religious-like zeal for marijuana. Sounds like an underlying problem that people have that should be dealt with but is being masked by a chemical dependency.

There is plenty of solid evidence that THC is harmful and that it is in fact addictive
The definition of "addiction" has been broadened so much that any number of things should now be considered addictive. The definition is meaningless now. In any meaningful sense, marijuana is barely addictive, if at all. In the new definition of addiction, marijuana is considered addictive bc people like to use it even when it negatively affects them. Well, we can say the same about sugar. Sugar should be Sched I by the favored definitions of addiction and the governments classification system.

The US follows Europe's lead in drugs? I dunno. Europe wasn't stupid enough to try alcohol prohibition.
I'm not aware that minors can smoke pot in Europe. I don't think any country allows that. Fwiw Europe does have looser drinking laws and lower ages of consent.

I feel the same about people who constantly pray and preach. It's like they're masking something by a religious dependency. Like there's an underlying problem they should deal with rather than constantly seek intervention from some nebulous external authority.

Now what about marijuana?

Link to scientific evidence supporting this claim? Seems fair in this thread...

Fortunately, the definition of stupidity has remained pretty solid throughout the millennia. The only evolution is in the parameters by which stupidity is measured.

I smoked for 14 years. Literally have never been paranoid not do I hallucinate. WTF type of weed do kids smoke these days.
Now Drinking, you want to talk about major psychological problems? We have this thing that is legal, it causes death, it causes paranoia, malnutrition, anger, hate, resentment. Sends people into hypomania or bipolar disorder. Leading to people having suicidal thoughts.
But hey it's cool. You can't operate a vehicle while under the influence, but we are going to make it legal to consume.
Alcohol destroys families, it ruins lives.

2 For with what judgment ye judge, ye shall be judged: and with what measure ye mete, it shall be measured to you again.
