I continue to pay mine (second degree) even through the covid ordeal. I know you dont have to but im just wired to do it. The way the world is going right now.. im sure right as I make my last payment the government will forgive all student loan debt. What are the chances? (btw I am absolutely AGAINST them being forgiven).

When the interest is put on hold there isnt a better time. Sadly I think there are a lot of folks who have already decided they wont pay back their loans ever, and spend their money accordingly.

100% chance they will be forgiven.

Once the Democrats regain power (post Trump) it will happen and all the limp character RHINO’s will vote for it.

The question is are you willing to ruin your credit and compromise your character waiting for it to happen in 5 years or 20 years?

They shouldn’t be forgiven, but they should be at 0 interest. It’s an investment in the future. No use saddling youngsters with debt. The university system needs to be greatly redesigned as well. If you look up louisiana public state employment salaries you would be shocked at how much money is in academia administration

They added the interest and reported it to the credit reporting companies, lowering credit scores. Dumb people didn't know better when this started several weeks back.

Because the guy's got a sense of fairness about him....something you obviously don't have.

Why are you for them being forgiven? Deadbeat? Worthless degree?

The university system is just as much a for-profit system as any corporation.

Why do they admit so many international students? Simple. It's about money. International students typically pay.

Because when people sign up for something they need to keep up their end of the deal. I pay my debts.

The only way I would ever agree to this is if they quit teaching useless chit. STEM degrees, yes. Anything else, you pay.

Are you a deadbeat? I do pretty well for myself, so I don’t think my degrees are worthless.

Because free loaders got bullshite degrees, never had any chance of finding employment in their field, racked up huge amounts of debt, at taxpayers expense, and have cried, bitched, and moaned about being $50000 to $100000 in debt after spending 6 years in college. Let's just wipe all that irresponsible behavior off the books.

The way you describe the debtors, it sounds as if the lenders were the irresponsible ones.

if you commit to buying something, and use credit to buy it, why should someone else pay it?

If that's where we are heading, imma get a Lamborghini....on credit.

I paid for my education. Higher education's NOT a right nor a free ride...nor should it be. Just be glad you could borrow for it!

im more in line with supporting 0 to near 0 interest rate. 1-3%ish would be understandable...7% is insane.
