Seriously though I live in Atlanta and know SO many northern transplants that still have a superiority complex about where they came from. Despite the obvious fact that they voluntarily chose to move south because a million reasons (better weather, better jobs, better cost of living, better quality of life, etc) they still do it. What state has more northern transplants than any? Florida. So this makes sense.

Only logical thing, grew up in Mobile, AL, never heard of any hate for Florida, also spent a ton of time in Louisiana and Mississippi and other than hate for Alabama FOOTBALL, never encountered any hate.

In the South, including Texas and OK, it seems to be about college sports. TN hates KY and KY hates TN...AR/LA/MS all hating Alabama. Let's call that the Saban factor.

The Oklahoma/Texas thing is stupid. Most people in both states are exactly the same, with the same fundamental morals and principles...
But you cheer for a college team that wears burnt orange or another that wears crimson and cream, and it makes you literally hate the entire state for it.
Living in Oklahoma, the most ironic thing about that TX/OK mutual hate thing has always been that the majority of OU fans, on Saturdays, scream the whole "frick Texas, only steers and qu**rs come from Texas!" bullcrap, but then on Sunday those same people put on blue and white jerseys and scream "go Dallas Cowboys!! America's team!!!"
I'm an Okie through and through and yet I love Texas and everywhere I've been in Texas minus Austin, Dallas and Houston.
I actually don't hate California though. I grew up in SoCal so I definitely hate it there and won't ever go back, but when you get up into the Sierras and over towards Yosemite and Mammoth Lakes, it's close to Heaven on Earth.

Which is stupid. Real world, everyday kinda hate is most def reserved for Texas and their god awful drivers. You Alabama baws are alright.
