There needs to be be very harsh criminal punishments for government officials violating civil rights whether it is 1st, 2nd, 4th, 5th, 14th, or any amendment. Bring back public flogging and executions.

You’re not serious are you? It’s settled law that the protections of the Bill of Rights extends to the states as well. States can give more protections, but they cannot give less. If the reason the state turned this couple down is because of the couple’s religious beliefs, then that violates the First Amendment and the couple’s right to practice their religion free of government reprisal.
