Evil Starbucks making their employees dip into their tattoo / piercing / purple hair dye budget to purchase some decent clothes for work.

I would have done for him with my leatherman for 8

Can't the employees claim buying their work uniforms on their taxes? Problem solved. Now cover your pits and don't wear that bullshite makeup anymore. You chose to work for a corporation, not some mom & pop coffee shop. Get back to work bitch.

my first dress code was suit's monday thru thursday, you could wear slacks and a sport coat on friday, women could not wear slacks and weren't allowed to smoke at their desks.
and we liked it! this was 1984

Make a trip to Starbucks just so you can say, " Love the new uniforms."

Oh, so they can't afford a new tattoo or to get their hair dyed bright orange for a month?
The horror.
The horror.

“I think it’s extremely tone deaf on the company’s part to expect their employees to completely redesign their wardrobe without any compensation,” Allen said. “A lot of us are already living paycheck to paycheck.” Allen said she misses the old dress code, which allowed her to express herself with colorful shirts and three facial piercings. “It looks sad now that everyone is wearing black,” she said.
These people are destined for nothingness.

Clowns. Liberal clowns. We all have dress codes and those of us not coddled from birth pay for our own clothes. I guess I should have asked my boss to pay for my suits.

Those "baristas" should have to pony up for FR rated shirts and pants, they'd stop bitching
On Tuesday, I needed new boots.
I got a basic pair of Ariats, one FR shirt and one FR pair of pants.
$400 after taxes.

Starbucks’ new dress code went into effect on May 12. It requires all workers in North America to wear a solid black shirt with short or long sleeves under their green aprons. Shirts may or may not have collars, but they must cover the midriff and armpits. Employees must wear khaki, black or blue denim bottoms without patterns or frayed hems or solid black dresses that are not more than 4 inches above the knee
Isn't this how they have always dressed? I haven't been to a Starbucks in years, but it seems like this was always how they were dressed when I did go there.

Brooke Allen...
Now I know why they're changing things...
There are stereotypes for a reason...

“must cover the midriff and armpits”
This must be a blessing for the ordinary people that walk in there

The real horror is a lawyer agreeing to take the case

They should be thankful that is all that Starbucks required. They could have insisted that all employees wear Carhart Coveralls. Not those can get expensive.

Sandals are just a little too casual for food service safety.
Non-slip shoes are not $60.09.
Imagine suing your employer over a uniform/dress code. And then continuing to work there.
