A quick story for Wolfie.....
About 3 months ago I had to go to court for petty larceny. I had a camera stolen and the kid who stole it was caught. I had photographs of him so it was open and shut. I was escorted into the an office where I met the Judge who would preside over my case. She looked to be in her mid 60's.
Hanging behind her were portraits of both Lee and Jackson.
I knew I was in good hands.
God, I love the South.

You know, I don't believe anyone has a problem teaching kids about the evils of slavery. However, to expect children to understand the reasons behind why Lee chose to fight for his native Virginia is ridiculous.
Would you be for changing the history books to include how African slaves came to America? Who sold them into slavery? The history of slavery and how the original slaves were Slavs......you know, where the name comes from?

Our school honors a gentleman. We don't fly the Stars and Bars. We don't glorify slavery. You don't tell us what to do nor what to teach. Come down here and call me that and you might not like what happens next.
We teach our students to read, write, add, subtract, etc. and do things that elementary students should be doing. We don't have time for SJW claptrap.

I despise the confederacy and the cause for which they fought, but Lee was excellent from a tactical and big picture perspective.
