I thought this was in reference to Fentanyl Floyd at first.

MOP and Broom must be stopped.

This went on for about 3 years if my memory serves me when Central did the same.
I would expect longer this go around.

I agree. My kids will be out of school by the time they have a functioning school system.

Whatever decision comes out of this lawsuit, one side or the other will file an appeal.

Too far away.
What did you expect? Anyone who knows how things went for Central expected this to drag out

The defendants need to supoena Broome and ask her to testify. Make her prove she knows how to run a city. She can’t

They won't have to. She's filing the suit, so she'll be there.

Can the plaintiff be called as a hostile witness for the defense?

I just bought a house in St. George. I'm hoping whatever the outcome, it comes sooner rather than later to provide some reasonable confidence in what to expect down the road.

They just need to get her on the stand.

I would still like a good answer on how she can sue St George as an individual using private donations while serving as Mayor-President.
If she is a private citizen, why does she have standing?
If she is a representative of the City-Parish, why was her suit not supported by the Metro Council?

It is truly bizarre. It doesn’t make sense.
She’s a private citizen and a public official. She can take donations for political reasons and to foster her personal agenda. She doesn’t even have to say who gives her money or how she spends it.
She claims the two individuals who started the petition are incapable of running a city even though neither individual claims to be running SG or is even going to try and get elected to run SG.
And I think you could put up a good case indicating she can’t run a city. The murder rate is out of control, five years after a record flood hardly anything has been done to fix things, she misses federal deadlines, she has a huge road program and there’s little going on with that, and she can’t staff the police department.

At least two of those issues are tied to bad decisions personally made by SWB.
The crime rate and the lack of officers is directly attributable to forcing Dabadie out for not wanting to fire the Sterling officers and Murphy Paul, an incompetent affirmative action case, getting the job expressly for a willingness to do that.
Crooks now know that cops won’t be supported and are doing whatever they want. And cops aren’t staying or applying here for the same reason.

The election happened. This is moot. The court should rule accordingly.

Hahaha. Don’t deal with lawyers much do ya? I do (unfortunately I am one) and I can tell you that date will be put off 3-4 times. Realistically it won’t come to a head until a year and a half, two years from that trial date.

Five years in office and Broome hadn’t filed a SWPP to the Feds.
BR could get fined.
Five years after the flood and Broome finally starts sending out letters to property owners letting them know what is required of them by the Feds.
Millions of dollars for flood control is sitting there waiting on local action. Waiting on a plan.
