Good point, and I thought about that. He would undoubtedly receive a ton more exposure since most people don't even watch CNN. I only catch his "highlights" when I watch YouTube snippets or maybe something that's posted here.

I always knew / understood the premise of your quip that several tv/media personalities have found a role in Trump's 1st and 2nd terms.
The thing about wit is that for the joke to land requires timing and context. You chose to make your joke with poor timing / poor context since press secretary requires someone good in front of the camera when put on the spot, and Pratt has shown signs during his mayoral campaign of having those skills. Criticizing Trump for potentially hiring a media personality to be a media personality and thinking that it's clever is objectively retarded.
And since you listed Dr. Oz as a reality tv personality, I think it's more fair to say, per google:
