I was traveling to China. Very clear night and on this occasion the flight path took us over N & S Korea. The difference was stark. S Korea was lit up like a Christmas tree. N Korea had one sole light in the middle of the country. It was amazing and stunning.

This...There's a lot of bad shite that goes on in this world but I have long believed that if there is any people on this planet that need to be liberated with a quickness, it's the innocent people of North Korea. JMO

The authenticity of her story seems to be readily questioned.

Not that North Korea is in any way a nice place.

Why are you spamming the board with a FB page in every thread?

It was brave of her to make that speech.

people in this country call Bruce Jenner "brave"

frick - that was moving and powerful

truthfully, it makes me feel powerless - North Korea isn't even the worst place in the world either

we are so blessed here, sickens me how many folks here are happy to work towards fricking up our freedoms...

I looked at those photos expecting to be surprised and angry. Instead I saw just another poor country. I am not saying things are not bad. I am not even saying things are not as bad as people say. I am saying those photos don't represent the NK as the hole it is portrayed as. Maybe they are filtered but for banned photos, I expected Schindler's list like imagery.

Hilarious. Remember when Trump wanted to ease libel laws so it would be easier to sue media who had negative coverage of him?

No, he wants to sue them for lying about him. Being negative towards someone and lying towards someone is two different animals.

The only way the Kim regime will be taken down without extreme bloodshed, in Seoul by the North or by a US led coalition, will be by an inner coup d'etat. Unlikely as the brainwashing goes back more than a century. Not going to be pretty whenever it does come to a head.

The North Koreans would probably be appalled to learn that we give half of our hard earned money to the government, that we have a political party dedicated to killing babies, that you can have a glass of wine at your anniversary dinner and then be thrown in jail on the way home, that corporations track our every single movement and own our intellectual property, etc. before we judge their culture, remember that we could be swigging firewater and hunting buffalo right now if we respected all cultures properly
