Was mostly candidate crap and for last two days it was saying R's are winning and needed to turn out to vote...

Just received one that says Dems are ahead by a razor thin margin to get out and vote and seal the win?

My question is there any truth to those texts? If so, where are they getting their numbers as to whether Dems were losing and now winning.

Overall, using fear to get them out to vote is very effective.

I get and block so many spam texts, theoretically I will have blocked every available US phone number within just a few more years.

#Me too

Mine are voicemails offering $50,000 loans though.

I've received and blocked no fewer than 50 numbers over the last 2 to 3 weeks, it is freaking insane. This is on my work phone, how the hell can this be legal?

How'd they get the number?

There's the problem as it sits right now.

I remember 15-20 years ago when we dropped our landline I thought that would be the end of unwanted phone solicitations.....nope, now it's my iPhone getting text spam and unidentifiable phone numbers several times a day.

It seems when you agree to a TOS you give every retailer who essentially requires your consent in order to use their products/services the right to sell your personal data .

Guessing you don’t vote? Most states you can see who a voter is registered as (R/D/I) and also if and how many times you have voted the past 5 years. Its usually public info.

These campaigns have access to data and can easily set up to send out texts to active voters. They can get your number if they have your name.

It is the one thing that pisses me off, these fricking grifters spamming day after day. They will never outlaw it because both parties do it. Its fricking insane.

I want DataRwpubician to get all these pols personal numbers and spam them 24/7/365. Get a new phone, spam it. I’d pay to see that happen. And spam all their family members too.

Have it say “a spam for a spam, you have millions more to receive to catch up unless you outlaw all pol spamming”

Every time.

Apparently they can't. I don't give my cell number to any business.

None.

If you early vote, you will stop receiving the texts due to Abbot spp

I get them. I usually just asked the to STOP, delete and report spam.

Just for fun, I did ask one challenging / potentially difficult question each to a Republican and a Democrat just to see how they would respond.

the big driver of these (along with mailers) is donating to a candidate.

I still get texts about candidates and races in multiple states I no longer live in. Some states I only voted in once 10-15 years ago. Have never made a campaign donation in my life.

I already voted, in person. There needs to be an function that shows if you've voted already, political texts result in 1$ being added to your bank account. This has gotten ridiculous.
