Jeebus! In one sense you didn’t disclose is ‘fuel wood’ do you understand what that is?

That’s these TVA derivative operations like. OLGATHORPE POWER allegedly out buying the public for forest hardwood timber?

Nice you have all that cutland to run over getting to your favorite stream?

Alabama Power sends its juice to Atlanta without it you would go dim or the Nuke plants would have to be switched on.

Enough said read and discern your own material please.

Sorry, I can’t link the snippet.

You might want to refer to the "Country overview" section, which begins thusly:

"Georgia is located in the Southern Caucasus region, at the crossroads of Western Asia and Eastern Europe."

Rates about to skyrocket. Alabama public service commission prepared to look the other way.

There's an entire blog on Alabama Power's corruption including buying off Public Service Commissioner Jeremy Oden. Apco has become quite woke. Back during the 2020 summer of love(riots) they "blacked out" their website in solidarity with BLM

Ironically, anyone with interest in the Alabama senate runoff should know "Christian conservative" Katie Britt is completely in bed with Wokeabama Power and their agenda. Her husband was a apco lobbyist (conflict?). She's full of BS when she says she supports fossil fuel.

Problem is you libtards fear nuclear energy more than petroleum products…we should send all of y’all to an island to live y’all’s green lives and then in about a year when y’all all have died off we can have our island back

Again, the meaningless statement of an idiot. I worked In Plant Vogtle, Plant Hatch, Rocky Mountain before I went to NASA. Your statement is that of an unknowing imbecile. "nuclear power is far superior" is a non sequitur missing about 10,000 bits of analyzed data and 40 years later still inconclusive to the non thinking 'Anyone with an IQ over 100' and nuclear experience knows that. You are empty headed and vacuous with your level of deep expertise - and LACK THEREOF

FFS, What type of retarded, circle back response is this?

I hate Democrats wholesale, and their anti-American policies, but Nuclear IS the best option for energy production as it relates to clean energy and safety.

This is very well documented

It is literally the best means we have for renewable energy but even the left is too stupid to realize it.

I would argue nuclear is the best path.

They mocked TX for being separate from the grid. A week of failure in the freeze resulted in investments in winterizing, doesn't compare to long term rolling blackouts. That's losing your fridge/freezer contents over and over again.

Really funny part about this ESG bullshite is that Italy, France, and Germany have said they will not be shutting down their coal plants because they are needed for national security purposes. Going coal free was a monumental disaster for them so they have pivoted to "Green Coal".

Is there any discussion about how Vogtle 3 and 4 coming online might offset any of this?

Covid set back a lot. It’s an unknown currently when. But if you live in Georgia Terry you should use google maps and check out some of the massive unproductive solar farms they have put in.

Southern Company has finally decided to take a step in the right direction and close down some of the dirtiest power plants in its fleet. Southern Company deserves credit for making this decision, but there is still work to be done.

What about that shite show “clean coal” mega power plant they built for a few billion near Hattiesburg, MS that cost a few billion and got progressively more expensive as it was built? Didn’t they discover that there isn’t enough clean coal or it was too expensive to change coal into a gas and changed the entire project to natural gas?

Once that plant went online, they shut down one of the plants along I10 near Gulfport/Biloxi. Shutting down some plants make no sense especially if they are still capable of producing power, especially in this environment where we need as much power that is available.

Where are we going to get the power to charge up all these new EV’s, unicorn farts.

The Kemper county plant is completely shut down. Only security guards there. The gasification process was wildly expensive. It also went billions of dollars over budget like you said.

Well then where is Southern Mississippi getting its power from.

I remember seeing the coal plant in Gulfport in operation several years back passing on I-10 as much as I have traveled through that part of the country, but when I saw the smoke stacks not working anymore, I looked into it and the Kemper plant came up as the reason since that was supposed “to be solution to Mississippi’s future power needs.”

Instead it is just dead weight on the balance sheet. Glad I am not a shareholder or rate payer to that dumpster fire of a company. But at least they are not Entergy which is an even worse dumpster fire of a company to some.

Votgle 3 & 4 won’t be enough to sustain Georgia by itself. Once online they’ll only be capable of ~2300 megawatts. With the Atlanta area continuing to grow and expand we’re going to need a lot more power. They’ve started installing cap banks in the attempt to “boost” the source but I don’t think it’s going to work. The Westinghouse bankruptcy heavily affected the delays of Votgle so it’s not all on SoCo. They have also bought land in Stewart County, Ga for a possible second nuke plant. The company is woke tho. CEO Tom Fannin is a democrat who heavily backed Hillary Clinton. Rumor was he was tapped to be Energy Secretary if she was nominated.

And when some democrat leader in the future begs you to curb your electricity usage.. crank the thermostat down to 65 and make them own the Soviet style blackouts.
