Not here in Jefferson Parish. I assume all of Louisiana is the same. Are they standing outside until Monday morning?

I don't have a problem with Macadamia Jubilation Congregation necessarily conducting get out the vote operations, per se, but let's be honest - the full court press for Heels Up is on as they do it, this cycle.

Well, most churches I've ever been to have largely stayed out of politics unless the issues pertain to the church and its teachings.

I don't want the Priest to stand up there and tell me about politics. Its not his place. I don't mind issues at the time being addressed and a Catholic foundational view of the issue, but every week being hammered with political BS while Im in church would make me find a different parish.

Today is souls to the polls day across the south. It’s the Sunday where black churches walk/drive to the polling station following service. They often walk to the polling station locked arm to arm, with the church pastor leading the way. My question: why is this only an African American thing? Do white southerners who attend Sunday service have a similar thing?

I can’t find any reference to it in news media printed prior to 2020.

I went to high school in Columbia, SC back in the mid 90's and it was a thing then. They also used to do it Florida when I lived there a few years ago. Its definitely a thing that has been around for awhile
