Seems a political talk forum is a good one. This isn't the rant.

Nice argument you got there tho.

I bet you believe everything the govt tells you. As long as it's saying brown people bad. If not, then everything is a lie!!!

Argument about what?

You're just whining about brown people and Republicans. I'm casually insulting your low intelligence on the Internet to pass my time.

That was my point, you went from a decent argument, which I conceded the truth was in the middle, to insults.

After the slaughter was complete, Mrs. Susanna Dickinson (wife of Alamo defender Almaron Dickinson) said that as she was escorted out of the Alamo by Mexican soldiers, she passed by the mutilated body of Davy Crockett. She believed it to be Crockett because of his unique hat (Coon Skin hat), which lay next to him.

Susanna Dickinson was a widow now and facing a hard life. I often wonder if she was awakened by nightmares of that terrible ordeal. At one point, she ran a hotel (of questionable reputation) in Houston. A girl has to eat. Life goes on.

I, too, made a pilgrimage to the Alamo. I didn't speak while I was in that Sacred Place. The barracks next to the Alamo witnessed some of the most brutal fighting during the storming.

Many of the desperate defenders retreated and baracaded themselves in the barracks. The Mexicans went in after them. Mexican soldiers who survived the carnage reported so thick was the smoke from the rifles in the barracks it was impossible to tell the difference between friend and foe—many combatants were accidentally shot by their fellow soldiers.

I highly recommend all Texicans visit the Alamo. You will not be disappointed.

Remember the Alamo

I mean it's mostly a lie. A bunch of Americans illegally occupied mexico, wouldn't pay taxes, and wouldn't give up slavery. So Mexico attacked.

But it's ok to tell the story about bad brown people to kids in school, because who cares if the brown kids are offended, but dare tell them about slavery and oh no white people offended CRT!!!

frick this guy.

No victim here.

Just sticking up for brown kids who have to learn about the alamo and black kids who can't learn about slavery. Not sticking up for white kids who are easily offended and need books and topics banned.

I mean considering you are banning history talks in the name of CRT cause slavery offends the poor white kids, you comment makes no sense.

Why should brown kids be offended but not white kids?

You should go to Goliad.

True dat - I lived in Texas four decades before I made it to Goliad just earlier this year. Sobering experience.

"Remember Goliad" was the more prevalent yell at San Jacinto than the Alamo, I have been told.

Why do so many discussions here devolve into this sort of nonsense?

Talk about lies. You’re full of them.

It’s funny you talk about sanitizing things and then claim CRT is only teaching about MLK as if that subject wasn’t already taught.

You never know the significance of somewhere till you see it.

I went to a ranger tour of Shiloh battlefield on the topic of the Hornets nest. Standing there with what all went on is pretty freaking wild.

And on that battlefield in backwoods TN, in two days, there was enough killed, missing, and wounded to wipe the city of present day Burlington, Vermont off the map in ratio to today’s population vs then.

Next on the bucket list is Gettysburg.

It's a political talk forum. I know you think that means only your side can make their one sided argument in every thread, but that is not normally how political forums are used.

I’m not banning anything genius.

But by all means, continue crying about history.

Maybe you missed my post about how in many states MLK books have been banned. So no lies here.

I'll forgive you for missing that post tho.

Your side is literally crying about history. You don't want white kids feeling offended by slavery. I'm sorry if you don't know this, but slavery is part of this countries history.

So stop crying about it and let the kids learn what happened. The white kids will be ok.
