As a 5th generation Texas, I witness daily a big change in our Texas culture as more transplants move in and schools fail to properly teach Texas history. The people I grew up with and know are mainly from rural areas and have a true and deep love for this state and its history. I've been given a shite ton of grief about our bravado and sense of independence from friends and colleagues that moved to Texas. I don't go around beating my chest and saying Texas is superior; however, if more folks around the country had this sense of pride and independence then this entire country would be a much better place.

Sorry for the old man rant. I just hate that most people no longer give AF about history and the sacrifice that men and women made for this state and country. It's much easier for pride in one's home to erode when that importance is not stressed to the younger generation.

We Texans are forever indebted to those that came to this place and gave their lives for freedom from tyranny.

I learned all about Martin Luther King in school in the late 80s. He was a conservative, too! What kind of made-up bullshite are you talking about with the book banning stuff?

Your side is literally crying about history. You don't want white kids feeling offended by slavery. I'm sorry if you don't know this, but slavery is part of this countries history. So stop crying about it and let the kids learn what happened. The white kids will be ok.

Is this the “no, but you are” argument? With every post the depth of your IQ becomes more apparent.

I posted a Tenn link too.

Thank god they refused as well.

Point is your side is terrified of teaching slavery, and will try to ban books and history itself.

Even if the state refuses.

My link literally said the books were banned by Penn. So still no lie, they just happened to have common sense and reverse it.

I will admit I didn't know they reversed it. But they will get it passed in some state soon I bet.

I suggest reading Forget the Alamo by Bryan Burrough and two others IIRC. Deeper dive into the players in the Texas Independence movement.

It was one school district in PA. Hardly a state ban.

Gtfo with you spin. You are a liar and you got caught. Nothing else you say has any credibility because you had to lie to make an argument.

You fail sir.

how in many states MLK books have been banned

could you name one of those states???

I've never heard of that.

But when you say "states" what are you implying?? - I am quite confident there is no State in the USA where the "state" has banned a book by MLK - or anyone else for that matter.

What state anywhere 'bans books' ????

name one = or clear up your f'n post.
