Roger How much money have you lost in the Stock Market over the last week?

I don’t recall Trump campaigning on causing an intentional recession.

To finally address the debt problem and the loss of our industrial base.
We are the worlds number two manufacturer, and per capita ahead of China.
Yet we are reliant on other nations for goods and products that could be used as leverage against the US in a conflict, such as pharmaceuticals, advanced semiconductors, critical components for the electrical grid (transformers, switch gear etc.) large pumps and motors, hardware and material used in O&G exploration and production, a lot of domestic HVAC companies claim their product is US made but in reality much of the domestic HVAC equipment is assembled from parts imported from China and other nations.
Most America First/MAGA types I know are not overly concerned with some sweatshops in China, Vietnam, India etc. making clothing, trinkets and other products that are not critical to the sovereignty of the US. However, if a nation can be held hostage by critical imports that are needed for the defense of the nation or for products that a nation requires to function properly than it's not truly a sovereign nation.

But the Fed raises and lowers rates based on the secondary bond market? I thought their main driver was inflation. Is that wrong?
I said prime but that’s not actually right they control the federal funds rate and the discount rate.
Their goal is to control inflation by raising or lowering rates but the the market is normally way ahead of their moves.

The Fed is not going to be lowering rates when inflationary trends still have not corrected. Trump is going to have to fully crash the economy and explode unemployment thus reducing demand significantly to cause inflation to abate and get his desired lower lending rates.

This is never going to change no matter who tells you any differently.

Awesome to do all this to try to solve a deficit that cannot be solved.
So what would have been your solution if Kamala had won, "keep kicking the can down the road" and let the next administration worry about it?

Tariffs could be beneficial, but he has no sense of how to target them effectively, apparently.
It’s like his an Elon’s ham fisted and counterproductive firing of government
workers, many of whom serve an important function.
