Xi has been cracking down on tax fraud in China over the past several months which has massively pissed off a lot of Chinese billionaires. This crackdown was necessitated by the slow down of China’s domestic economy, the costs of importing energy at inflated prices from the Iran conflict, and their issues dealing with crisis in both the banking sector and the real estate industry. Many high profile Chinese celebrities and influencers have been arrested or had their assets confiscated. Xi has also purged a lot of potential rivals in recent years to ensure that there are few (if any) viable candidates to replace him.

I don’t know if this news about Xi being sick is true or false. However, I would not be shocked by a coup.
