Legally being the key word. They are already breaking how many laws? What’s one more?

You're a fricking retard. In the US you can have as much cash as you want to in person. $10k is the limit financial institutions need to report to the government to be sure there are no suspicious terrorist activities going on.

No..you can have as much cash as you want on international flights as long as you report any amount over $10000.00.

I’ve flown in and out of Minneapolis airports and there are tons of Somalians working there.

I don't remember ever declare anything when departing.

Declaration required when landing / entering, which in this case would presumably be when these Somalians landed in Somalia.

Some of these comments remind me why some "westerners" think they are just flying out of some small 3rd world airport.....and wake up in a 3rd world prison....and the embassy does not answer the phone for stupid.

For a few grand, I would bet that those TSA agents forget to look in their bags.

I agree on the surface, but that leaves open the question as to why terrorist haven't bribed TSA agents and blown up more planes??????

If its so damn easy to get around TSA and Customs why haven't terrorist been blowing passenger jets out of the sky?

Whatever. The Somalian 'immigrant' community in MN is getting scrutinized, and rightfully so. But go ahead and support this 'community'.

According to the law, yes. According to practice, no. Local government, aka the police, steals large cash amounts under caf laws.

I find this hard to believe. Anyone carrying a lot less than one million dollars in cash has to explain why or officials will immediately confiscate it.

With cash?

I mean, aren’t they leaving the country?

The “evidence” is pretty much gone once the wheels leave the ground. It’s not like the government in Somalia is going to stop them from bringing in US dollars.
