So what happens if (and I say IF) this indictment is another Nothing Burger?

Oh I’ll tell you what will happen
People will be upset for about 48 hours
Republicans will go on Fox and NewsMax and talk shite how they are going to do something about it
Trump’s poll numbers will skyrocket (not that it matters in this banana republic)
Annnnnnnnd
The dems will be on to their next Trump hoax and people will just carry on with their daily lives like nothing happened again.
That’s what would happen.

One can indict a ham sandwich. Any trial won't be resolved until after 2024 primaries, so mission accomplished for those that care so much about the republic.

I imagine the people plotting these investigations already have another 50 scenarios lined up to run. Enough to take it past the primaries, past the election and to prepare to undermine another Trump presidency if that becomes the result.

We've already heard numerous things about the "next indictments" coming out of Georgia, New York, DC, etc.
There are definitely more in the pipeline that they'll pile on. They're not only trying to make it feel hopeless to vote for him, but also hopeless for any future outsiders considering running for president

1. guilty of lie about whether there were any more docs.
2. obstruction. moving stuff to avoid fbi search.
the meaty charges will depend on scotus ruling.
6 3 scotus should be trump safe.
2 counts.
obstruction.
lie.
those look solid.
all 3 big cases will have scotus involved which should be ideal for trump.
nevertheless he's going down for the lie and moving boxes to avoid detection.

If the case falls apart badly it would be a disaster for the DOJ and FBI. No one will consider them legitimate outfits and I think much of the public will call for massive downsizing with a complete change in leadership, at a minimum. Their credibility is already pretty low. It'll go to rock bottom if this falls apart.
