NFL would not allow stickers in memory of the slain officers.

Yet the NFL lets the team wear pink attire in support of women's cancer. Seems as if the NFL is not goosing their gander.

If an NFL player wears pink other than when their respective team is wearing it during October, that get fined.

They have a lot more power to fine players for uniform violation, for things as minor as sock length. They don't have the same power when it comes to national anthem protests.

Maybe they knelt for their right to free speech, which our President is trying to suppress?

Yes. In some alternate universe, progressive totalitarians are the ones that don't riot when someone they don't like speaks on campus or gets elected.

Uh, you forget the times that the league allows this for certain games? They actually promote it.

I'm not forgetting that. But they allow it because they are promoting it. They can only do it when it's during the "promotion" as part of the allowed uniform rules. If a player decided to do it this week, he would be fined.

The NFL is very self-serving with their promotions like that. They usually so it for their own benefit, and only allowed it when they say so.

You misrepresented what I said, and it was easily verifiable in this thread. If that makes me an idiot, then what does it say about a person who has to misrepresent the idiot in an argument?

This obsession over LeBron is creepy.

No. I made the claim that I didn't believe Jerry Jones and the Cowboys supported LEO violence, and it was ridiculous to insinuate that.

The poster responded that it was a result for their support for BLM, which I specifically said I had not seen anything stating that they were supporting BLM.

Then you wanted me to prove they weren't supporting BLM, knowing full well I can't prove a negative.

I may be a mental midget, but the fact that you think this basic argument was an attempt to be clever, indicates that you're down here with me in mental midget territory.

I never responded to myself, but look at the second reply to YOUR OP and only one minute after the OP.

he is not trying to suppress anything you MORON CUBED. He is stating there are repercussions. Especially in the private sector. they can protest all they want on their time and not during the anthem. Run back to democratic Underground and get some more stupid talking points. I'll wait for you here.

No.

He expressed an opinion. He excercised HIS right to free speech.

Something YOU clearly don't believe he's entitled to do.

Where in the frick in the constitution does it say you have the right to protest while at work? You have no rights at work other than what OSHA and the employer allows.

So the president said he was going to instruct Congress to pass a law requiring you stand for the anthem? That's the only way their rights would be infringed. You liberals are some stupid sons of bitches.

The President shouldn't be advocating for any citzens to get fired. If this were Obama calling for the firing of players this board would be in an uproar. But it's ok here because Trump said it.

NFL made and agreed to rules forbidding what the players and owners are allowing to occur. Thanks for playing.

Short memories around this place.

Obama commented on plenty of things he had no business commenting on. He was just a bit more passive/aggressive in his tone than the current occupant.

A62-63 of the NFL League Rulebook.

"The National Anthem must be played prior to every NFL game, and all players must be on the sideline for the National Anthem. During the National Anthem, players on the field and bench area should stand at attention, face the flag, hold helmets in their left hand, and refrain from talking. The home team should ensure that the American flag is in good condition … It should be pointed out to players and coaches that we continue to be judged by the public in this area of respect for the flag and our country. Failure to be on the field by the start of the National Anthem may result in discipline, such as fines, suspensions, and/or the forfeiture of draft choice(s) for violations of the above, including first offenses."
