I agree. The OP states "Tim Walz is lying about head coach of the state champion Mankato West football team."
If Tim Walz never claimed to be head coach of Mankato West, that would be a lie to state that he did. The Leftists are usually the ones doing the lying. Let's keep it that way.
Happy to be wrong on this...if Walz DID claim to be head coach at Mankato West, I would be delighted to see that. To pretend that only the head coach is referred to as "coach" is as absurd as claiming that Walz was a combat veteran.

False equivalence. Let's see if I can help with a logic lesson:
All adult women have had sex.
If you were single and looking for a wife would you rather marry a girl who had sex with 1 guy. Or one who had sex with 4,394 guys?

This dude is so politically ambitious. For him it is the be all, end all.

GTFO of here with this bullshite. We called every teacher that worked in athletics "coach." In the classroom we called them coach, even if we didn't play the sport they helped assist with.

They are implying... Does an assistant coach or coordinator "Lead the team to the state championship"???
Honestly, that is not exactly the “gotcha” you think.
You see Tom Brady “led the Patriots to six Super Bowl wins” or similar all the time. He was the head coach. He only played offense. But he was a team leader, and his play was obviously key.
Can someone show me somewhere that Walz actually said “I was the head coach”, then heck yes call that out. But if the best they’ve got is “he was part of the coaching staff which is the leadership team, but not THE HEAD leader” then that’s splitting hairs.

Maybe the Dems should have nominated someone more accomplished instead of having to create a fake resume for this guy.
Hell, Trump's 23rd item on his resume is:
WWE Hall of Fame member Donald Trump

It just feels disingenuous then going all-in on this coach narrative when he was never even the head guy & could never be the head guy bc he got caught drunk driving.

DEMS like liars.....they will worship a radical left wing liar that helps beat Trump!
The DEM election machine is almost unstoppable based on the current situation in the US.

they talked about his role as an assistant coach though.
No they didn’t, they didn’t say he was assistant coach or coordinator… they left it ambiguous as “coach” and what he instilled in his player and that his leadership turned the team around from 0 wins to the first state championship.
Could have easily said “as an assistant coach he helped mold his players and propel the team to a state championship”… instead they just said he was coach so people would think he alone did something amazing.
It’s a play with words for the morons.

Where/when did he claim to be head coach of Mankato? That would be a big deal.
He said he led the team to the State championship and implied, he was the head coach.

We are mixing up different issues here. Anyone who plays sports knows to call their assistant coaches “coach.” If he lied about being head coach, that is a big deal. If the campaign lied about it, also a pretty big deal. If he was defensive coordinator, then it is very reasonable to be called “coach.” Let us criticize him for the legitimate parts that need criticism

They've certainly phrased it in a way where everyone thinks he was the head coach. Hell, until this thread, I thought he was the head coach.

Democrats could care less about any of this.
Posted on 8/10/24 at 11:41 am to AlterDWI
Absolutely. I want to dump on whomever needs to be dumped on. If it is the campaign then great. If him, even better. I am just saying lets make sure we have the right target

Agree with this.
The lie that WALZ claimed he was the Mankato West head coach disappointed me. Clearly, it didn't matter to many others. I appreciated the discussion.
Cheers.

Just as a point of fact because I saw another poster misstate this, but apparently his drunk driving arrest was while at a school in Nebraska.
He later moved to Minnesota, where he was defensive coordinator at the school which won the state title.
As far as the narrative goes, I would argue that most knowledgeable football fans would agree with the statement “as defensive coordinator, coach Buddy Ryan helped lead the 85 Chicago Bears to the Super Bowl” to be accurate. Similar saying “as defensive coordinator, coach Walz helped lead Mankato west to the 99 state title” isn’t incorrect.

He was REMOVED as coach you voluntary blind liberal liar.
I believe that he resigned as a coach with a school in Nebraska in 95-96 after the DUI arrest.

OP OVEREAS has 5 posts so how much are you getting to post for the REMOVED "Coach" due to DWI conviction or are you a troll AL robot for the Harris/Walz team debacle?
Your post is full of factual errors, and yet you call others out. He was not convicted of DUI/DWI, he was arrested for it and later pled to lesser charges. he resigned his coaching post (not to say they wouldn’t have removed him).
He later moved to Minnesota as was a “coach” at a different school that won the state championship in 1999.
Fwiw, my concern is simply point out the misinformation being spread. I would suggest that you spend your time acquainting yourself with Walz record as Governor and attack that.
