If living within my means. Not having kids. And not being a frick up, then yes.

Do you not see how horrible your views are? You think that poor people are so stupid they can't help themselves but make stupid decisions. You really do believe that they don't know better.

Nice to know you think so poorly of our "poor" (they aren't even fricking poor, btw)

So no funding to places that need it the most, only the states doing well. Sounds like the whole conservative model. Give up the booty to those that already have. What a bunch of horseshite. Mindless drones of the elite.

Good thing that "illiterate" can work his iPhone perfectly fine. Weird... There's tons of free resources to teach damn near anything for free on that iPhone.

Oh and those lovely libraries. And school.

Keep making excuses with imaginary strawman.

It's not imaginary. I actually know kids like this. YOUR made up "everyone has an iPhone and can read" statement is a made up strawman.

Their parents should be sterilized to ensure they no longer procreate more illiterate leeches.

And while we're at it, sterilize them as well. If they're illiterate then they should absolutely not have children.

I've still yet to see a single poor whom is on govt assistance who does NOT have a smart phone.

So now we blame the kids for their parents' fertility.

Mandated sterilization was ruled unconstitutional long ago. Sorry to be the one to burst your bubble.

It sounds like you live a very insulated life. Just because you haven't seen someone with your own two eyes doesn't mean they don't exist, friend.

Spend less. It's not difficult.

You're incredibly naive. I was like you once. Ignorance is bliss.

Insinuating that poors don't know how to spend less money.

This assumes that every American makes enough money to pay for everything, which is obviously not the case. quote: It's quite easy to live off of $50 a week in food. Maybe for one or 2 people but not for a family with kids (not infants who can breastfeed).

Poor people don't know how to advance themselves financially to support themselves.

People exist who work and can't afford rent, groceries, utilities AND health care.

Poor people are too stupid to know how to budget their money properly.

Make good life choices. Spend what you have, not what you may have later. It's quite simple. But it's not that simple. Good life choices are relative. To some, finishing high school is a good life choice and college isn't even a possibility. Not everyone is exactly like you. Step outside of your little bubble and understand that people have different circumstances than the ones you g

Poor people are too dumb to make simple life choices such as not having children. Or getting an education. Or learning a skill.

The kid who doesn't have literate parents and therefore had no one to read him or help him with homework and reads at a kindergarten level needs to stop making excuses and teach himself how to read so he can maybe make more than minimum wage some day.

Poor people are illiterate and can't use the plethora of free resources to better themselves.

Did I blame the kid for being born? No. But I blame the parents for having him.

I've lived with people of all walks of life. I also don't walk around with my eyes closed like you obviously do.

We have to agree to disagree. Despite facts proving otherwise, you seem to think everyone is literate and only can't afford rent, groceries, a vehicle, insurance and health care because they buy junk food or aren't working enough jobs. I just can't even engage anymore. Your world seems very small to me and doesn't seem to reflect reality.

Not what I believe at all. They all have the POTENTIAL to have those things. But they made conscious decisions which hindered them in their attempts to obtain these things.

It's as simple as living within ones means. Not having kids until you can afford them. And completing your FREE education and using the FREE resources that are available EVERY WHERE.

Our differences lie totally in who we blame for their lack of these things. You want to blame society. I blame them.

I just can't even engage anymore.

Of course not. Personal responsibility is hard.

Your world seems very small to me and doesn't seem to reflect reality.

Because my world is reality. Not fairytale land. Stay blind. Keep making excuses.

The poor are poor for a reason. And it isn't because society failed them. It's because they failed society.

Why are they "food deserts"? Do these fools lack the ability to find mass transit?

Oh My God, I knew BamaAtl would pull out the "food desert" card.

BamaAtl, the reason there's food deserts is because the neighborhood denizens steal the stores blind, don't buy fresh produce which sits out to rot, deal dope outside the doors and harass the customers.

In short, traditional grocery stores in Slumland USA don't make a profit.

Should they also be forced at gunpoint to give away their goods and services, like doctors? Poor people gotta eat too, think of the children.

I was answering your ignorant comment about boomers running things in the 60s and that is all. Your subsequent comment to my remark concerning your ignorance tells me that you are stupid and childish.

I absolutely have issues with medicaid and medicare.

But this bill does more than just slow the rate of growth of medicaid. To say otherwise is just disingenuous.

plus this bill doesn't really change the underlying issues in the market.

Seems you are the one who is ignorant.
