Pence is too much of a stick in the mud to get elected. His primary virtue for Trump's VP was that he was loyal, honest, dull and steady.

I have no issue with you all piling on Pence but your devotion to Trump, in this case, shows you have no respect for the Constitution.
Remember when Gohmert sued Pence in the Eastern District of Texas specifically to define his powers under the Constitution? It was heard by Judge Kernodle an R and a Trump appointee if you care. He ruled Gohmert had no standing BUT he then did a very unusual thing in a dismissal order he actually wrote an opinion on the merits. He apparently thought the question was so germane to the situation at the time he outlines the entire process for Jan 6th under the 12A and Electoral Count Act including the VP's (in his roles as President of the Senate) job and limits to his power.
What people seem to have expected Pence to do was not within his Constitutional powers. If you don't care about that then that is your choice but if you claim to stand for the Constitution you should have nothing but respect for what Pence did, which was his job. On the contrary I think you should have disdain for Trump for pressuring him to subvert the rule of law.

I don’t understand how Pence bailed on Trump. He’s been very loyal to him, and apparently while others in Trump’s circle would talk behind his back in private, he wouldn’t even do that.
