As for the boogaloos, it’s a damn meme, not an organization. You could just as easily say that any of the people discussed here as evidence of some sort of movement are “associated with facebook” or “associated with twitter”. I haven’t seen anything coherent that even rises to the level of NFAC, and most people are laughing at them, not wetting the bed.

And it’s not even a complete answer for the “why”. We weren’t any more unified 8 years ago, but the people who didn’t vote for Obama didn’t throw a national temper tantrum. The complete answer is “political disunity plus the left not winning the presidency.”
