So in just over 1 year...

Trump has presided over:
-a massive tax cut
-a YUUUUGE increase in jobs (especially in manufacturing)
-forcing Kim to start requesting a meeting (through being a better bully toward him and a good enough negotiator to get China and Russia on-board with stronger sanctions), with Kim even going so far as to hit Pause on his much-loved missile tests
-the largest cut in regulations of any President
-the bringing of Canada and Mexico to the table to re-negotiate NAFTA
-the military taking the fight to ISIS in such a way that the lands they control have been cut drastically (around 90% of what they controlled in 2016). **Thanks, Powerman
-the removal of the individual mandate (the foundation of the ACA)
He may be orange, he may be buffoonish at times but he's proving to be damned effective.

He did bomb the shite out of Assad and did order troops into Syria. They wrecked shop on some Russian mercenaries about a month ago.

It's somewhat easy to do when you realize you carry the biggest stick at the negotiating table and choose to negotiate from that position of power.
Though not perfect, the US is still the most powerful nation in the world. Yet, we constantly let weaker countries bend us over at the negotiating table. Mexico and Canada need the US a hell of a lot more than the US needs Mexico and Canada. We provide a bulk of the defense in NATO. The US has the world's most powerful military. Why would anyone negotiate from a position of fear against NK?
No one is saying the US has to be an imperialistic warmongerer. But that doesn't mean the US has to enter in to shitty deals just for the sake of making the rest of the world "like us." Exhibit A was the ridiculous Paris Climate Change Accord. Regardless of how you feel about "climate change", it was a bad deal for the US
