Which people that are against legalization are against.

Do you have to have plans in place to treat people with obesity in order to legalize sugary foods? Do you have to have plans in place to treat people with alcoholism or that die in drunk driving accidents in order to legalize alcohol?

Just be for freedom and move on.

We need more progtams!!! Crazy talk. Just like when a criminal commits a crime, they know the potential risks. So does that drug addict.

I'm for freedom and responsibility for your actions.

Comparing people who are addicted to something that is illegal to those that make a conscious choice to break the law shows a lack of understanding on your part and ignores the cost to society that not helping those addicts recover would create.

No one is forcing people to seek treatment

But it helps if it's there

I would say illicit drug use is a top 5 problem in the U.S. right now. I don't mind some public funding to help people get off the shite.

I think we need to move toward some sort of mass incarceration for homeless addicts whose families aren't willing/able to care for them.

It's not that their families aren't willing too. It's that legally they can't force them.

Doctors can only interfere if they say they don't have access to basic human needs like food, water and a roof over their head(tent). At that point the doctor has no choice but to release them

The libertarian view is simple. It all gets back to liberty. Legalize all drugs. It's your choice. If you get addicted no public funds should rehab you. That's property theft. Hit the gutter and die. If you resort to crime, you should be shot dead.
Add - Severe penalties for driving impaired. Build a lot of additional prisons if necessary.

What will happen to the Libertarians, they won’t have any issues to push.

Libertarians are a very small fraction of the population that have almost zero pull in politics.

Bring back prohibition. No one is getting high and wanting to drive. Alcohol is the worse because of bars, clubs, and some restaurants. You can’t smoke weed in the dispensary. Plus Plants are not drugs.

4 people on acid in four different cars come to a four way stop all at the same time.
Who goes first? I'll hang up and listen.

One thing that might change is all of these people dying from fentanyl when they weren’t trying to take fentanyl.

Yeah, you’d get more of them.

We didn’t get fewer alcoholics after prohibition ended.

Imagine if the alcohol was tainted with something that could kill you in one drink. Forcing it into the black market prevents users from knowing what they’re getting.

Addicts will abuse drugs of alcohol. When what is legal isn’t getting it done, they’ll switch to whatever they think will. Legal or not, safety is the last thing on their minds.

Or are you saying there’s such a thing as “safe” fentanyl.

I don’t think many people are trying to take fentanyl. They’re getting it through contaminated cocaine/heroin/pills etc.

If recreational drugs were legal, they could be regulated for purity. Just like you can sell alcohol, but you can’t sell it laced with drain cleaner.

Also, there’s strong evidence that China is sending fentanyl over here to contaminate our recreational drug supply and kill Americans/destabilize our society.

Now you’re just being silly.

Drug users (or alcohol) will do whatever it takes to get a higher high or lower low. Why the heck do you think they lace it with fentanyl in the first place now?

Fentanyl would be legal to use and abuse, with nothing to stop them.

Sorry, but I think most people who believe that "legalizing it" will make a major change in this country are keyboard warriors with no real-life experience in the drug world.

Trust me, whitey, nothing will change.

The fiends and the people that supply them will simply move on to something else.

All that’s left is for you to explain why all the mob wars over bootlegging territories ended as soon as prohibition was repealed. Do that and you’ll have conclusively won the argument.

However, simply saying “trust me, nothing will change.” Isn’t a convincing argument.

Prosecutors and shitty judges are to blame for letting violent, repeat offenders out of jail.

Nor is saying "trust me, things will change."
