Whatever would we do without our "citizen" Chinese spies?

The birth tourism could be stopped just by someone asking one simple question before issuing a visa. Asking a woman if she is pregnant. If she is then deny the visa. If she lies and shows up and she is pregnant then put her immediately back on a plane.

If only we enforced the "you can't hire illegals" laws.
Absolutely nailing employers who hire them to the wall has always been, and remains, the best way to handle it.
First offense--enormous fine per illegal.
Second offense--doubled fines plus suspension of applicable occupational/operational licenses until fines are paid or a period of six months, whichever is longer
Third offense--permanent loss of license and corporate status, jail time for principals.

Maybe. We have done that to some extent in the past. Though today, I fully expect the courts to fall prey to an equal protection or similar argument.

Well I thought I had a pretty good grasp on this till yesterday and now I’m all confused. All I know is I thought about this and I’m not a no good scheming shady slimy Democrat lawyer that is looking to find and invent new ways to import new voters and keep as many potential illegal voters in the country.

I thought Congress made the laws but the courts seem to get more done than Congress.

It is an interesting question because until, I think the 80s, it was not very important for seasonal workers from Mexico to become citizens. It was very easy to cross so they would not hesitate to go back home for the off season.
How it was explained to me was when it became more risky to cross was when they thought about staying and started taking work in landscaping and construction etc…
Surely there were some babies born before citizenship was thought of as a big deal. I’m guessing they would have had a birth certificate issued.

Well I tend to think outside the box. I hope that I overdid it on this one. I just know that lawyers are mostly Democrats and right now the Dems are looking for any way to gum up the works to keep illegals from being deported. They would love to get even more in here to be counted on the census to help blue states keep Congressional seats. I have no doubt that Dems will be looking for any way possible to use this ruling to their benefit. They don’t have to win these cases should they bring them. They just need to slow down the system with bogus claims. And hey who know if you get a case like this before the right judge they may not only allow it but rule in the favor of the immigrant filing the case.

The idea that somehow China is secretly birthing people in the US en masse as a clever ruse to come back into the US to “spy” on us is silly.
Hell Trump want to let in 100s of thousands of Chinese students that, historically, have been involved with (actual) espionage and IP theft.

Justify it however you want. The SC ruled that America isn't for Americans, it's for every shithole on the planet. Plain and simple.
This ruling cemented the loss of our culture and country. I don't care what the justification is for the ruling. I only care about the terrible effects. Conservatives that are fine with this "correct" ruling are idiots who can't see the big picture. They care more about the process than the country.

Now that SCOTUS has made birthright citizenship legal just exactly how far back does that attach?
As others have stated, they didn't make it legal but rather they underscored the legality of it.
Instead of looking back at the past for your questions, you should be looking towards the future. For instance:
Now that it's official that giving birth in the US equates to citizenship, how long before we start seeing mass pregnancy tourism (pregnant women coming here just in time to give birth)?
How bad will it have to be before politicians stop ignoring it? (because they will at first)
What will be done if a country like China starts sending hundreds or thousands of pregnant women per year to get citizenship for their kids, then they return to be raised under China's communist dogma only for them to come back here for work and then to run for office as young adults?

Well what you are saying is correct and makes total sense. That is the obvious though. I was more asking the question now that SCOTUS has basically strengthened birthright citizenship with its ruling could the leftist lawyers talk people that may have family born here from yesteryear into suing the government for citizenship rights to use it as a way to gum up the works in the immigration courts and slow down the current cases so deportations slow down. Like I said earlier lawyers love to try novel cases. As we all know too a lot of these left wing activist judges do not really follow the law. If someone in the situation I brought up filed a case for citizenship and some loony activist judge is over the case then we have all watched as they overstep their authority and interpret the law in extreme ways to get a political outcome instead of a fair process and justice. Then you have another trip to the Supreme Court to decide if this case was right or not. That will take a year or so. Anything to clog the system up and slow down deportations.
