This is a brilliant Sun Tzu move by Trump! DEMS think the NG is there to protect them, but ask yourself who wrote the emergency order? Christopher Miller, hmmmmm. Things just got more interesting.
Re: FEMA, what broad powers belongs to them during an emergency? Very interesting ?? ??

The irony in y'all getting behind that while simultaneously
applying the opposite logic to the BLM protests is amusing.

does one justify labeling a clearly disorganized act of trespassing and/or vandalism by a fringe minority who carried no weapons and never even came within 100 feet of any elected officials as a “violent coup attempt”?
Do people normally bring tactical gear, and zip ties when they are simply trespassing? Do people chant about hanging the vice President and shouting about killing everyone inside when vandalizing places?

Wonder how many feet away this is?
The reality is that people stormed our capitol, killed a cop and tried to get to our elected officials. What would have happened if they made it to them? If Nancy P was walking through the halls, what happens to her? AOC?
What happened was a serious, violent and disgusting rejection of our democratic process that was provoked by the President of the United States intentionally lying to his supporters because he doesn't give a rats arse about our country and is willing to let it be destroyed to stay in power.
Any support for it is blatantly anti-American.

So 20k troops to DC for a virtual show?

I'm wondering about this too. The dims also can't oppose the military being there for their own protection either. What would they say?

No one's saying that a potentially violent mob didn't storm the Capitol.
We're saying the violent ones weren't on our team.
If I'm driving 12H to DS to hear my President speak, I'm sure as hell not leaving 5 mins into it to storm the Capitol and scare the shite out of a bunch of DS hack Congressmen

So, what is it that you think is brilliant or interesting? What exactly is it that you are implying will happen?

Where have I said anyone should be afraid of me?
Apologize - I wasn't referring to 'you' personally. It was a generalization and prompted by a quote I had just read from SCLibertarian:
"They ought to be terrified of us. Good government doesn't exist without fear."

Then who's team were they on?
The thousands of people at the capitol, there to protest our fair election with Trump flags and screaming pro-Trump rhetoric, weren't Trump supporters just because they weren't at the speech?

Hmm. Cherry-picking and truncating quotes, the refuge of the intellectually dishonest. But I’ll give it one more try in good faith just in case you’re a decent person who’s having an exceptionally bad day.
Actually, had you posted the entire sentence it would have been clear that I said they could have overwhelmed security AND committed mass murder, destroyed the Capitol, or both IF the entire group had been involved. Do you dispute the fact that none of this happened?
There may have been some individuals who were temporarily overwhelmed; others were taking selfies with the “enemy”, which isn’t a great look for the contingent who’d assert that our elected officials were in imminent danger from these folks. As a group, however, they were not overwhelmed, or things would have been exponentially worse than they were.
Who is “y’all”? I’m one person, and I have been consistent in my support of First Amendments rights — as in PEACEABLE assembly — for all.
No, and I would certainly question why someone would bring zip ties. I also personally disapprove of chants that glorify violence, although those do not seem to constitute a crime. If so, there would have been a lot more arrests this past summer.
Regardless, none of this addresses my question to you regarding the true intent of the rally and march. How did this very small proportion of bad actors within the Capitol actually represent an attempted coup when they were collectively so disorganized, ineffectual, and lacking in resources? You can’t even definitively state what they were trying to accomplish, other than felony trespassing or vandalism, without resorting to complete conjecture and hyperbole. A few dozen people with zip ties and tac gear, while reason to detain and question, do not constitute a coup attempt in and of themselves.
Fair enough. I’ll retract that part and revise it to about 50 feet away, with the exception of those who voluntarily approached the protestors, but never in the same room.
Care to address my questions in turn now, free of truncation? I’ll settle for an honest reply to these:
What fraction of the total crowd did the Capitol intruders represent? As a group, were they remotely equipped to do ANYTHING other than make a nuisance of themselves, or was the only real power in the mob outside ... as in the vast majority who deliberately restrained themselves and did not hurt or threaten anyone?
