He'd have to get in line behind a sizeable portion of the DNC

I'm honestly beyond grateful that came out in 2016 against a terrible candidate in Hillary. We might not have been so lucky with it in 2020 against a better candidate.

But seriously though, that tape would've destroyed any other politician's career forever and Trump won the presidency in spite of it. It's amazing when you think about it.

I mean, squishy moderates on the right have been in office for a really long time. If your argument is that they aren't effective, I'd listen.

Quite possibly, but so what? What are we gaining?

You've ordered the food and you're stuck with the bill.

May as well let them put it on the table. As if CPAC isn't going to hear for years the criticism "they invited a nazi to speak" canceling the appearance just gave that criticism a lot of validity.

"You're a racist"
"Yeah, that's true. Thanks for calling us on our shite"

idiots

It's kind of like Paul Ryan saying trump is a textbook racist.

When people now say "you endorsed a racist" what is he going to say? "Uuuh, I don't think he's a racist, he just made some public remarks that were textbook racists"

It's stupefying really. Now the story is CPAC invited a racist. Is he a racist? Well CPAC sure as shite thinks so because they canceled his appearance.

Sure I'm not disputing that.

Yes, precisely what I'm saying. There are a lot of political moderates in Congress in both houses that has been there for a long time and nobody but government employees and the most dedicated political junkies could name them.

The best, noteworthy, and most successful politicians are usually firebrands that didn't back down from their stances and didn't cave to outside pressure and at least not without concessions from the opponent.

The left looking stupid trying to intimidate conservatives into verifying their stereotypes about them being racist and bigoted?

And CPAC shouldn't have invited Milo. Not because he's a pedo who may say pedo things, but because he sells outlandishness.

That is, of course, if CPAC wants to be taken seriously. I'm not involved in it so it doesn't make much difference to me, but IMO they brought it on themselves. There is a time and place for Milo, but I wouldn't think CPAC would be it. Or at least, if they seek to carve out a spot for him, they should have assumed controversy may take over the substance of what they're trying to accomplish.

Blending ideological conservatives with trolling elements is going to continue to be a messy affair. I'm not necessarily opposed to either contingent, they just don't really blend neatly despite the services each side can provide the other.
