He seems like he's got way too much motivation to embellish the story. I'm sure there's some truth in there but I'm skeptical that it's all true.

I guess he saves the juicy parts for the book but he says basically they watch everything. They can view anyone's computer history and use it against them; and he says everyone watches porn in some form or another I guess even out of curiosity at some point.

Even IF we trust that the intelligence community is only ever going to use that info to go after terrorists and foreign actors, Snowden has proved that all it takes is one disgruntled individual to release that information.
The government should NOT have that cache of information. It’s not thing to have the ability to collect it for temporary/immediate use like for investigations or such, but it’s a whole other ballgame when they keep it.

Snowden is a traitor for the fact that he's a CIA plant designed to injure the NSA, the only intel agency with any real desire to preserve our republic. Snowden is neither a patriot nor a hero. NSA was onto the CIA's Deep State mission years ago. Pulling back the curtain on PRISM hampered their ability to operate as an Internal Affairs agency on the rest of the IC.

I hope you aren't basing this opinion on Displaced Buckeyes opinion. He has in the past claimed some type of high level clearance to know that Assange is scum.
It has been so long I forget how things rolled out on Snowden; but I surely don't believe a word Displaced Buckeye says.

This, the CIA doesnt view itself as part of the govt, they believe they are an entity in and of itself.
And does any fool actually believe the NSA stopped collecting metadata back in 2015???? We have been doing this since WW2. Google map the storage facilities in Utah, either they started a used car parking lot, or, its business as usual.
Its a necessary evil, if we stop we wont have our freedom, it will be taken from us by chini or some other nefarious actor. Its akin to saying I dont like nuclear power so I dont want submarines parked in ports in my town. I personally felt a heck of a lot safer seeing aircraft carriers when I lived in Va Beach.
And on that note, when all the dust has settled on this attempted coup, I believe Mike Rogers should be awarded the Medal of Honor, he is one of the few in Washington who believed that part of his oath that said "Enemies foreign AND DOMESTIC".

I think the big deal is that not everyone wants that fact public and therefore, it is usable information against individuals
