This seems like a stretch.

On Snowden in general: is it reasonable to say that both of these things can be true?

1. He did Americans a service by blowing the top off of the NSA surveillance program.

2. Despite that, any of his actions since then should be viewed with some level of skepticism given his current circumstances.

It's not about simping for the GOP personally, it's about looking at the big picture and wanting a mechanism in place to block and kill shitty legislation that will frick over the working poor and middle class.

The GOP sucks sure but control of the committees is important and we're going to get a reminder of that for the next 2 years.

Democrats may not have been able to get their legislation of choice passed after they won the house in 2018 but they were able to make the last two years of the Trump presidency a living hell for Trump simply because they had the speaker's gavel.
