Will if make a profit?... probably - after creative studio accounting - Blu-ray and streaming income. Eventually many do anyway.

If it tickets sales fall domestically a substantial amount next week, if will need to rely on the foreign market, which isn't as lucrative for studio's. For instance, China often demands a > 50% take and even distribution in other countries often cost studios 50%. This, unlike in the U.S., where they can often demand 80-90% of sales for the opening weeks.

It would have been a slam fricking dunk. Millions and millions rolling in. The IP gets a jolt. Merchandise. Cartoon series.. printing money. Instead you cast a nutball who can't stop fricking everything up about your movie.

And the funniest thing about it is that they had plenty of time to cut bait and recast with someone who wasn't a retard but they doubled down.

Disney gets everything they deserve because they're stupid. Stockholders had a chance to put people with brains on the board but they're idiots too. Now it's continued evidence that they're incapable of learning their lesson.

I really don't understand modifying successful IPs. The formula is there; it worked. It still works. Shamelessly copy it, or you get The Hobbit.
