Genuine question: How do they weed out freeloaders/frauds? I’m talking about the ones that actually have a boyfriend(dad) who won’t marry the mom in order to qualify for SNAP?

If they are smart about it, you never will. But if they are sloppy or have no other options; the way they will get caught is by having all of the federal government agencies talking to each other.

In your scenario: Woman applies for SNAP benefits and has to list everyone in the household as well as the household income. Boyfriend(dad) works to provide for the family without marrying the mom. Payroll records and tax forms are tied to the same address as the woman's application.

Currently the 2 systems do not cross check data. Have them linked with people routinely auditing the data within the systems. And these types of situations will eventually be caught.

I see this first hand. I know of a couple that has two kids and have lived together before having the kids but never married. The mom works at a school that pays low wages. She uses all the government help while the father has a job making over $100,000 per year. They go on trips all over the country and do at least one cruise per year.

That would be so satisfying to see it done at least 1/2 correct vs the present system of theft where anybody who doesn't want to work gets that free cheddar.

Imagine if as much effort was made towards ensuring that billionaires paid their taxes.

How quickly does an Obama judge slap that with an injunction?
Entirely possible, given Trump's proclivity for ignoring the legal prerequisites for actions that he otherwise would be entirely authorized to undertake, if only he were to follow the rules in doing so.

Hopefully they restrict what can be purchased with ebt.

This is akin to deportation. Remove Coke, sugary snacks and processed food. If they want it, go work for it. Staples (flour, oil, butter, bread etc.) only.

and these foods stuffs are what makes folks fat. Hence the need for more healthcare and then more dependency. Dems know what they did.

Yeah, because 1200 billionaires are the problem, not the 30M criminal illegal aliens who siphon tax dollars off like breathing oxygen.

If Congress actually did their oversight responsibility, this would not be needed. Congress just passed spending and then turns a blind eye to the administration of all the funds they give away. This is why we are in debt and why so much fraud exists.

Imagine if Congress passed a spending bill that required all agencies and fund recipients to provide an certified audit every 2 years covering the period since the last audit. Also, no new allocation of funds until an audit has been submitted for the previous allocation.

Able bodied people that can’t feed themselves should not be allowed to vote.

Anyone who receives welfare of any form should not be able to vote.

I would love to also add that voters have to be taxpayers (have a job) and pass a civics test. If you dont understand the basics of how our government is supposed to run you shouldnt be able to decide who we elect.

First and foremost, they want the existing data from individual state welfare benefactors. I know it’s a shocking revelation, but Red states have already given that information to the Feds and evidently, us working folk are so benevolent we’re feeding the dead. To the tune of over a 186,000k in Red states alone, now just imagine the fraud in blue enclaves who of course have failed to turn over their federal data to the Feds.

Go back to government cheese and such. Let charities distribute it to those in actual need.

SNAP should be a form of short-term relief for those facing temporary difficulties, not a long-term supplement to the way of life that one could otherwise afford without it.

This sort of periodic review SHOULD return it to that core purpose.

Further, I see absolutely no reason that it should not be limited to staples and be available only for a very limited period of time per recipient.

This is a great step. I'm glad Brooke didn't listen to all the people who just yesterday said MAGA was dead.

Does Brooke Rollins know that SNAP recipients already have to reapply or re-certify every 6 months to a year?
