Iran should have been taken care of during the Reagan era as soon as the hostages were released. Trump gambled and lost.

How, specifically, would you like the govt to lower prices?

that's a long discussion, but

1. Get federal spending and borrowing under control. Cut unnecessary departments/spending. Eliminate fraud. All the things Doge promised.

2. Build more electricity generation, including nuclear.

3. Reduce:
-Broad tariffs that increase the cost of imported goods and production inputs
-Excessive occupational licensing requirements.
-Regulations that protect established companies from competition.
-Consolidation in food processing, healthcare, and other essential industries.
-Hidden fees and anticompetitive practices.

4. A monetary policy that prioritizes quantitative tightening whenever economic and financial conditions permit.

You can blame Trump as much as you want and I admit he had a role in the midterm results but the lack of any positive legislation by the Republican Senate and House over the last two years was the biggest reason that the party lost crossovers from 2024 and created apathy in their base. They literally wasted the opportunity to get the things done that they promised in 2024. Republican leadership needs to be replaced, RINOs moved to the back of the room and new leadership needs to get shite done when they have another chance, probably in 2028 after the cluster fricket that will take place over the next couple years with the Demasses in charge.

John Thune owns this. Watch a see how the rogue Dems roll. Playing by the Rules when one’s opponent doesn’t is a sure way to lose. That is the bottom line.

I agree with this but I put more weight on Trump for not demanding that legislation.

Trump was good at plugging into the needs of the marginal voters and got goid crossover support in key states. He was greatly helped by having some of the worst opponents ever seen- Biden and then Kamala. Then he blew it.

Frankly, I think trump is mostly interested in cashing in

As a Democrat that has voted in 4 states and every election since 1972 I agree the Smartest play is to distance the Republican party as far from Trump as possible. (How did "vote like I'M on the ballot" work on November 3rd?
I don't believe the Democrats will make the mistake for the 3rd time of trying to impeach Trump. They know they don't have the votes in the Senate.

The Democrats Will put forth several Bills that will help those who were part of the Big Beautiful Blue Wave so they can force Trump to VETO the bills.
Come 2028 the Democrats will have fresh ammunition to run against the Republican nominees.

Even when they were just striking Iran the first time last year, the leaks from that Signal chat showed he was strongly against even those. I believe him that he was against it from the start.

How anyone can look at this Trump presidency and fight for it is a little odd.

It’s the perfect time to start a new party. There are a lot of moderate voters. Even if the candidates aren’t moderate the voters think they are. Democrats on the right, independents, and Rino’s need to make a 3rd party.

In the Senate Montana, Alaska, and Nebraska should have went purple. Democrats screwed up running in Montana. The Independent candidate would have won. Instead the Democrat and independent split the vote..The Independent got 37.5% of the vote and the Democrat got 12.05% of the vote.

This would be really bad for the Democrat party

Republicans are lame ducks. Smart play?

Go into a room, kill all the leaders, then start again.

The illiterate muh gas crowd would love price controls. They are the perfect rubes to support their own demise.
