How do all the blue collar union workers feel about paying for all these worthless college degrees? Their Unions backs these idiots every election. How can anyone vote for DEMS, I simply can't fathom being that clueless.

What if you make 100's of millions and get billions of bailout money? Then you are east coast elite.

This is going to help way more white people than black people, so I'm not sure where yall are getting this from.
Because Pell Grant recipients who already got free money (in the form of... well, Pell Grants) are nearly 50% black, which means, when you figure in other minorities, more blacks get Pell Grants than any other race, and that's not even per capita. If 13% of students account for 46% of Pell Grants, and now they'll be given an extra $20,000, then it's not very race-neutral, now is it?

So, any word on if this loan forgiveness will be treated as taxable income to the recipient like other debt forgiveness?

Let's make this easier to follow. Out of the 19.6 million enrolled students, Pell grants were distributed as follows:

Race A: 10% of overall enrolled
Race B: 7% of overall enrolled
Race C: 19% of overall enrolled

With this in mind, which race will benefit the most from Pell grant recipients being given twice as much forgiveness?

Total bullshite and buying off of the voters.
On the face of it I think you are correct. However, the lion's share of people positively affected by this is and was going to vote dem anyway. Joe six-pack didn't get any student loans, and the small business man who may have gotten them have already paid them off and are now more incentivized than ever to vote MAGA in 24. In the long run, it helps Trump.

So, about those $4 trillion pumped in the market at the beginning of the pandemic and the PPP loans forgiven to business owners (some of whom were multi-millionaires) ...

... any takes on that?

It probably will not. The current debt forgiveness programs that the federal government has don't treat loan forgiveness as taxable income.

Watch the outrage on this. The majority of the folks that are complaining have way more debt than that, with useless degrees.

I just thought of that too after I responded. Need a CPA, but I bet that forgiveness then counts as income which will be taxed.

No because in one of the Covid relief bills there was a provision added that said any government debt forgiveness until 2025 or 26 would not be taxable so all of ppp loans given to the wealthy wouldn’t be taxable when they get their debt written off.
